This thread is dedicated to humour,
Granted, humour is on life support, these days. :skull:

Let me begin:

If climate warming is still a thing,
Why are there so many "Snowflakes"? :chin:

A am considering making a poll as to how long this thread will last.

Good luck with the thread.

I'd have to agree that humour is on it's last legs. Gone are the days of (for example) the "Goon show", "Carry on" movies, Monty Python, Billy Birmingham, Kevin Wilson, and even Al Yankovic (based on some of his songs (and videos), I'm surprised the mob with their torches and pitchforks haven't come out for him yet, being that he is from the land of the outrage mob).

While some of their work may be "questionable" now, at the time they conformed with the social norms...And I'd suggest if there is no public record of a person having spoken out against these sorts of acts at the time, then that person should lose all ability/right to publicly critise them based on current social norms, lest they rightfully appear as a hypocrite.

Q: How do you know when you meet a hardcore "Progressive" in the street?
A: He/she walks in circles in an anti-clockwise direction.

Nah, humor is going great, just a lot less punching down and being able to carry a message that can hit back at the powerful. It is how you get things like the Okay Boomer thing.

Q: How do you know if a boomer is on the phone?
A: You can hear them across the street.

Q: What is the difference between a TERF and a trans woman?
A: One wants to watch the other pee, and the other is trans.

Q: What do you call someone who is for free speech, but is also a hypocrite?
A: A racist.

See, it is funny from things like Donald Trump literally giving the answer to racial unrest recently was to have people prevented from being called racist, rather than actually identify complaints of systematic racism (literal political correctness). And also a lot of people on the site alone that would say they are really for free speech sure get angry if you even hint that some of their views might be racist.

What do you call someone who turns the rare opportunity to have a laugh, into an advancement of his, or her, or its own personal politics?

I know but I can't say it on this board!

Nice examples of targeting a person's infirmities due to age in the first example, and the sexism (or at least anti-feminism) demonstrated in the second with regards to other people's beliefs\understandings...

So what we see hee is that you believe sexist jokes, or ones at the expence of another's disabilities (physical or intectual) are OK? Interesting.

Actually, I am a feminist so my swipe at TERFs is not anti-feminist so much as against a type of person that I think sucks.

Also, you can see my response to the death of the larrikin topic that I think that these types of anti-PC comedies is kind of stupid and not helpful. My responses here are a part of irony (comedy) on how people who think that this sort of thing is just in good fun and might only offend snowflake SJWs. My stance are that my jokes are actually just as much the type of non-PC jokes that people who say comedy is dead and you can't be non-PC any more, but you can and just in the ways that people who complain about snowflakes will get offended.

There are better ways to be funny than to act like this.

I'm guessing the humour is found in the presentation?

Not sure what free speech and hypocracy have in common with (or how they link to) race. Any chance you could provide some enlightenment (and potentially a joke demonstrating actual humour)?

I agree--If no one can take this seriously, then there is no way to take it lightly.

Someone who is for free speech but is also a hypocrite could be a lot of things. It might be someone who claims free speech, but then wants stronger "hate crime" legislation. It might be someone who demonizes a side of the feminist movement as TERFs, but wants free speech to protect his or her position. Just putting it out there.

Because people who say free speech in the sense that they can say what they want on topics that can involve topics like race get really offended if you use your free speech to say something they said was racist and will try to police your speech. Does that make sense?

Ah...So that would be like:
Q: What do you call a feminist who refers to other feminists as a "TERF"?
A: A Bigot.

NOW I understand.

You realise there is nothing bigoted with feminist calling a TERF what they are, right? That is what the F stands for, nor can it only be used against women. It is used to denote radicals that exclude trans people even by feminists against those in their own movement. They are the real bigots.

For the record you started with the name calling in calling me a bigot. Did I trigger you?

Did you forget? Comedy is obviously on its last legs, but only when it's anti-PC comedy.

It is quite ironic to complain about other people getting offended so easily and make jokes that may attempt to provoke someone, and then in turn get easily offended over a joke with a similar goal. It seems thinking things through here isn't always common, though.

Also, the TERF joke was actually funny. Sue me.

Which TERF joke? The one about peeing or the one about a bigot?
