Right now there's talk of moving covid patients from Texas up here because no room left there since the governor flat out refused to issue a mask mandate for a month while corona cases soared. We have no mandate here and we have been surging like all get-out so what will our covid sufferers do when there isn't room because of all the covid Texans? Abbott is a Trump lapdog pretty much. So is the governor up here. Wonder what it's gonna look like in a month? Italy, probably.

Probably.

My cousin lives in Arizona and my mom was chatting with her and she said the ONLY thing they are told by local authorities or whatever is that masks help - that’s it, no other info about basic precautions and safety measures that they should be taking to mitigate this pandemic. Nothing.

I mean, I guess they’re at least told masks help?? But wtf c’mon the whole world knows more about this than they do because our governments are giving us all the facts as they emerge and telling us all the best practices of what to do in order to stay safe and not get this or spread it etc.

Texas, Arizona, Florida & others are all about to become Spain’s and Italy’s at the same time. NYC on steroids. And it won’t stop until people follow instructions (which need to be given in the first place.) and change their behaviour. But if they refuse to listen, learn, and do differently - then this is only going to get worse. Much worse.

Well, Goldfish21, we were somewhat successful with corona containment all through March, April and most of May here in Oklahoma.

They tell us plenty of info on how to lower risk it's just some places are spreading it. They even gave us a list of 7 places to avoid or be cautious while there because contact tracers discovered they are common in new infections.

What's troubling today is the health department just added daycares to that list making 8 total and daycares are a lot like schools. So how are these schools the government demands open going to be safe from covid-19?

They aren’t.

What’s the list of 8 places?

Here we’ve seen an increase to something like 21 new confirmed cases per day and we’re at something like 189 deaths for just over 5 Million ppl in BC.

It’s way too high and growing too quickly. Few people are wearing masks in many public places. We need a mask law mandated so we don’t lose control. I don’t know why our Minister if Health keeps saying she believes in just asking people to do the right thing and then letting them voluntarily comply. Stupid. People have proven that they cannot be trusted to do what they’ve been asked to so a mandatory mask wearing law should be passed. IMO.

The 8 places where corona risk is highest (and this is for Oklahoma)

1. Daycares
2. Faith based activities
3. Bars
4. Gyms
5. House gatherings
6. Weddings
7. Funerals
8. Other small gatherings.

Thanks! Nice to see you, too! Hope you've been doing fine. Haven't been here in a couple years. Nice to see familiar names :D

Restaurants don’t make the list? Or are they included in bars? Bars and restaurants are one of, if not The, top place here. I dunno why ppl feel the need to sit in a bar or restaurant sharing air with others during a respiratory virus pandemic. Idiots.

historians of the future likely will conclude that all these "prophylactic measures" were but a charade for too many reasons to fit into a paragraph or two. OTOH, the main reason for the maga fascist takeover of our country can fit into a single [complex] sentence.

Look at the alternative. That is why people still support Trump.

Still better than the guy who ignored pandemic warnings. If something else crazy happens in the next 4 years that Trump is even partially responsible for, Trump supporters will only have themselves to blame.

How can Biden (or any functioning adult) possibly be worse than trump? :?

Even if you disagree with his policy ideas, how could it possibly be worse to have a president that would do something to prevent American deaths by the hundreds of thousands instead of actively work to deny science and ensure that hundreds of thousands die from this pandemic?

On this One Single Issue Alone, Biden should be the hands down no contest winner in a landslide of the 2020 election.

I wonder if some Trump supporters know how it looks to admit it so instead point elsewhere as to pretend they have no real choice but to vote for him.

I'm a lifelong Democratic voter who thinks that George W Bush was possibly the worst President of all time...but I support Trump. The Democratic Party has fallen apart. They bash Trump constantly, but what have THEY done?

Major Democratic cities are in a shambles, with crime spiking, ANTIFA bullies fearlessly roaming the streets, and Dem mayors adding to the chaos by releasing convicts. Drug abuse has quietly spiked in our major Dem-run cities, as has AIDS and other once-controlled Venereal Diseases.

Communist China is our mortal enemy, but the Dems have gone on and on about...Russia as if it isn't an impoverished regional power. In fact, the Dems resurrected McCarthyism with their bogus "Russiagate" claims.

The Dems are using the most caustic racial divide and conquer tactics, pitting blacks vs whites, painting BLM jargon everywhere and undermining law and order by delegitimizing the police.

Donald Trump is the least of America's worries.
