Let's see... We have climate change being ignored as we are being flooded with storms and having our forests burn down around us in record breaking heat waves, a deadly pandemic, economic ruin, racial tensions coming to a boiling point, and perhaps we are on the verge of a third world war or second American civil war?

What do you guys think? Will we still be alive within the next 10 years? :|

These are just minor little bumps along the way of life. If it was an apocalypse, you wouldn't even have to ask that question. It would be self evident.

What if it's just the beginning of the end? And I hope nobody thinks I'm just being a troll. I'm actually serious here because what's going on in the world terrifies me. :(

A few weeks ago we had a bit of a flash flood. While trying to move a small log off my bridge, I was swept in submerged in the river. I was pulled into a culvert and shot out the other end with great force like a cannon. This could easily have ended me. But it didn't. I was just another strange adventure to add to my extensive list of adventure within my live.

Fear can twist your core like a large oak tree twisted by a tornado. If you can learn to place all your emotions in a tiny little box and seal it up and lock it, you will never feel fear or terror again. Some Aspies can do this.

How about I put all my emotions into an Xbox game console and fight the computer generated badguys ruining the world? :rambo:

There's nothing to worry about.

As for the climate, I'm in favor of Global Warming. It's our friend, not our enemy.

We are currently in an ice age that began something like 2.6 million years ago. If you want to see something akin to an apocalypse, wait until this interglacial period ends and we cool back off quickly for another 100,000 years or so of widespread glaciation. People are going to be dying all around -- some from starvation as a cooler Earth cannot even come close to supporting our population and some from the wars that will undoubtedly be fought over increasingly scarce resources.

Yeah... I suppose you're right about the wars over scarce resources. But it might just be Mother Nature's way of saving the planet from us. There's too many people in this world. I know that sounds horrible but it's true. :|

If you need my opinion it is this;

It depends how you view it and it depends how you make of it.

Mostly the signs either cause a person to go survival mode and want the old systems as intact as possible.
Or celebrate and appreciate change even if the change itself is destruction.

I fit on the latter category, whether or not science and news are literally bombarded with fire and brimstone.
Whether it's a call from self deprecating retribution, call from surrender and coping, or a call from serenity and love...
All I know was that I've been waiting for it for a long time. It's just how I'm.

Don't be ashamed if anyone's at the former category, it is understandable.

I'd adapt on the now and now alone just like any other every day.
It's up to everyone else if they want to adapt on the now, as if it's just another day to cherish or worry over tomorrow.

TLDR; many may interpret it as an apocalypse, I tend to interpret it as something else.

Apocalypse is Greek for revelation, and the name of a book that fortold the end of the world.

HarMagedon is a mountain in Israel where King Yoshiyahu died and is where the book of the Apocalypse says the final battle will happen.

Apocalypse just means to reveal, what your asking is:Is the world ending?

Let's no one go to that mountain in Israel to have a showdown, and we'll all be fine.

No one can predict the future with certainty, but...second civil war in America? Highly unlikely. Same for WWIII. Climate change will definitely escalate and become more and more of an issue, gradually, but it's not like it'll kill us in 10 years. We have a lot longer than that. The pandemic is really not that bad in the grand scheme (the vast majority of people are basically immune to it). Economy will go up and down like it always has. So no, I believe we are nowhere even close to an apocalypse. I think humanity will pull through for quite some time.

Maybe we're just witnessing the collapse of western civilization?

Can we all at least agree that these current events are going to lead up to SOMETHING terrible?

You mean like Trump being reelected? Or Biden being elected?

Either is terrible, but I don't see how we can avoid both.

I'm thinking something even worse than both those scenarios, like more mass violence or falling into financial collapse, or maybe even a large scale war (I'm sorry but I believe war on American soil is not outside the realm of possibility).
