You obviously believe that Jesus exists or you would not say that He was black. So how do you believe in Jesus and not in God? Just puzzled where you are coming from.

My view is that God = Nature personified

This would be in my mind like saying 'You don't change nature - nature changes you', to which one could go over all of the technological progress we've made, ways we can genetically engineer mosquitos to stop the spread of Malaria, etc., but then it has to occur to us that we're not separate from nature - we are nature as well and while we can't say that our tools and technologies are phenotypes we can say that culture is something like an extended phenotype and those tools are contents of culture.

I guess I'd fail this test because I see the whole idea of a deistic creator standing outside of its creation and judging it - all the while having rogue angels it screwed up with terrorizing our progress - not only not matching the world we actually live in to any perceivable degree but the whole idea of creating something 'ex nihilo' causally separate from yourself when you are the one cause of all things is incoherent.

Jesus is a historical figure. That doesn’t mean the stories in the Bible which describe him as divine are true.

In the same way, one can believe Menachem Mendel Schneerson existed without accepting that he was Divine or the Messiah.
