Lately I have been thinking more about some people’s belief that if Joe Biden becomes president, China will be able to take over in some way, which on the surface is a horrendous idea because of what their government did to the world. And despite me being mostly anti-Trump, it is starting to make me feel nervous. After the virus cover up, who knows what else the Chinese government wants to do. We need leaders who are willing to prevent China from spying on us or whatever so that some other bulls**t can’t potentially happen. Every other government in every other country needs to stand up to those bastards who caused things to be how they are now.

I’m not saying that I support Trump either. Although people on that side argue that he made a travel ban on China in January, Trump also had said that the virus was a hoax, among other crap.

Anyone think that Biden or Trump CAN prevent China from doing more s**t to us, because the way the pandemic has turned out has really got me on edge. The Chinese government needs to be held accountable.

What did the Chinese government do to the world? That is really a broad statement.

Well, China is going to do what all countries do, which is to work to their own advantage. Right now, we have no real foreign policy to address Chinese aggression. Given Trump's attacks on our intelligence services, I think just about any administration would be better right now. But we have to work with both hard and soft power in this. We also have to build (or rebuild) regional alliances.

As with most things, China is not just a negative. And we should work where we have mutual interests.

And this is not just about Biden, but who Biden hires. Given the Trump administration history, I think Biden is going to have better people around him and he seems to be more willing to take advice from those people.

The dream of "holding China accountable" ended in 2016, when China became the world's biggest economy.

China is now the most powerful country in the world, and Neither Trump nor Biden can change that. China will also continue to grow at a greater rate than the US, so the difference will become even more pronounced in the coming years. Finally, China is also recovering from COVID-19 much faster than the US, so this will further tip the scales in favour of China.

Zhōngguó bǐ měiguó qiángdà, suǒyǐ wǒ xiànzài xué hànyǔ. Nǐ ne?

Trump has, however - somewhat ironically - paved the way for even greater Chinese influence in foreign politics by undermining the international cooperation between countries in the so-called "Western" world.

When Trump launched a trade war against Europe (! !!), several European countries began shifting their economic relations more towards China to avoid being overly dependent on the US. China is already Germany's largest trading partner, and based on Joe Biden's policy platform, he isn't going to revoke all of Trump's protectionist policies overnight. It's simply not good for European business to be too reliant on the US.

It's also getting a bit late to talk about what China should have/would have/could have done about COVID-19 back in January when it is now October.

I was talking more about “repeat offenses” by China that would make things worse in the world.
