Honestly I don't care what happens to him. It will be sad for his kids if he took his own life but I am sure many people would be celebrating or would they call him a coward because he should have stood up for what he believed in and face the trial and face his consequences while standing up for his beliefs.

Him running down to South America, I am sure he would be called a coward for that as well.

Jail, yeah he is already facing jail time and I keep hearing he is going there when he leaves the Whitehouse, this could be why he didn't want to lose the election. He wants to stall 4 more years to avoid jail.

Mental institution, this man is clearly unstable and so delusional. He is not in touch with reality and doesn't seem to grasp how elections work and being the president. No Donald, you cannot run the country like it's a business and us residents are not your employers so you can't fire us as US citizens. No Donald you cannot rule this country. It doesn't work that way. If it did, then Obama would have been able to keep all his promises.

4 years of this circus, man.

Funny enough, social media decided to not wait another 12 days because they had already suspended his account. Google Play had decided to remove the Parlor app because it's become like the dark web now. Now there is a talk about impeachment again.

My best guess is that nothing happens, but I won't bet anyone's testicle on that. 8)

A slap on the wrist at most.

Going to South America isn’t an option for him. This isn’t the 1940s when you could just disappear. Every South American country has an extradition treaty with the US. He might be able to go to Russia, which has sheltered Snowden.

I suspect he’ll probably issue a federal pardon for himself and his family. He will then only be subject to prosecution by state and local governments. Not sure how long he’ll get for those. Also think it will be very difficult for him to receive a fair trial.

Little chance of him being locked in a mental institution. He appears to be sane, and doesn’t have any mental health issues that make him a danger to himself or others. As he is reasonably wealthy, he will probably never need to go to a care home as he can pay for round-the-clock care.

Don’t think he’ll kill himself. He’s too opportunistic.

Disagree, look at what he did to our country, this isn't posing a danger to others?

Narcissistic personality disorder doesn't count? There is even a speculation he may be a sociopath. That is also a mental health issue.

Yes, at most, fines, penalties, interest and admission of guilt.

I doubt Donald's well liked in South America, but I doubt he's well liked anywhere other than the US, which I don't think he will leave. A mental institution sounds like the ideal place for him, but I doubt he and everyone in his circle lacks the ability to see it. Suicide and jail seem more likely, especially jail. But, neither is a certainty. At the very least, here's hoping that what his tax returns predicted comes true, and some debt collectors break his legs in a couple years. That would teach him.

"basically nothing, besides him leaving office" should have been an option in your poll.

Too soon to say at this juncture. Anything from "basically nothing" to your whole of range of choices seems possible (if you substitute "a foriegn country" for "South America". He might bolt to somewhere, but not necessarily to SA)at this point.

He will probably pardon himself of all federal crimes. But he still faces state and local cases, and civil lawsuits once he is out of office. So he will almost certainly have legal problems in his near future.

At the moment it looks like even the GOP (or at least its ruling elite) has abandoned him. But that renders both Trump and the GOP equally politically gutted. He and the GOP need each other, it seems.

Well, is it feasible that his business empire will collapse now.

Donald Trump's wealth is largely tied to real estate which relies on guests (hotels, golf clubs) to generate income.

When out of office - and with the legacy of being perhaps the worst president in US history - prospective guests would likely run away screaming from Trump's properties. His 88.7 million followers on Twitter - oh, wait his former 88.7 million followers on Twitter - haven't translated into customers at his businesses so far, so they probably won't know.

As such, the market value of Trump's properties (already suffering heavily from COVID and his negative reputation) would likely plummet even further. Complete and final bankruptcy might be next.

Then Trump is a nobody, and nothing would be worse for Trump than being a nobody.

I hate him but that's a pretty sick poll as well as pretty naive...

He should go to prison.

But he won't. That lot (the extremely rich and powerful) never do.

He's lost twitter & the white house & presidency. I hope more houses are to follow. I hope he comes somewhat close to having a normal income, not broke cos that's naive to assume it could happen, but not super rich. For him, that would feel like a punishment. So would being shunned at the country club.

I think he'll also experience divorce. Esp if that happens. I think Melania is there for the $$$.

I hear some very interesting things happen in those prison showers.

I think he'll go down in history is a bumbling president without any filter with what he says and that might be pretty much it. He's a bit nuts but nothing he's done warrants any of the selections in the poll. Like all presidents or any leader for that matter, people love and hate them simultaneously and when someone is given what can only be described as the highest amount of responsibility any person can possibly have then holding him/her more accountable for incorrect judgment and decisions doesn't seem that fair to me.
