I find this hilarious. This tells me how much he was hated people are throwing celebration parties of him losing. I don't remember anyone doing this with Obama winning or when Bush won. Has there ever been any celebration parties in the past when a president would lose their first term election like when Bush Sr. did to Clinton?

I didn't like Bush Jr. as president but Trump sure makes me think more positive of him lol and I am realizing I never hated Bush, I just didn't like his politics and how our economy was affected and our US dollar growing weak.

This will be so interesting in our US history and I can imagine one critical thinker child asking "why would people celebrate a president losing their first term election?" because it's so weird to them to have such celebrations over it. Then they are told the all the bad stuff about him by their teacher and the child is like "Oh now I get it" and just imagine that kid being shocked there are still Trump lovers out there and them being in denial of all the stuff Trump had done as president and they claim "trump is only painted as a villain because he lost."

Now imagine all the websites popping up about this conspiracy by democrats that made Trump lose the election and anyone who dares to question our US history about Trump will be labeled as a troll and those Trump denial topics get banned from websites and social media as well.

This will be very interesting in my life time and how schools will teach this.

I hope such celebrations don't result in spreading the coronavirus.

Given there is no official declaration of a winner yet (I believe in 2000 it wasn't until around mid Decmeber that it was decided), I wonder what would happen if it was found that he won and the celebrations were premature.

No celebrations here, very low key.

In 1992, although I was a big fan of Bush Sr. (still am), I trusted Clinton to do a good job, and he did. Perot would have done well also.

Well, if they do that then it's open season to label those Trump supporters who were pushing for ballots to stop being counted as being anti-democracy and pro-dictatorship. I look forward to the sparks that will create.

I somehow doubt the textbooks will be pro-Trump but we will have to see about that.

As for the celebrations, it looks like a lot of people are having a great time. On the news there were two individuals in orange dinosaur suits dancing outside of Trump Towers to "Beat it" with a sign saying "Biden Won!" I once again love Americans. Up here in Canada, my mother bought a pie to celebrate Biden winning. Our Biden pie was an apple crumble, though I told her it was a missed opportunity for blueberry. Still, the apple crumble was great, and baked blueberry tends to turn more purple than blue, so I still think it was a good choice.

Cracking open some beers to celebrate!
In answer to the OP: a big part of the celebration has to do with Trump, having been the worst President in American history, now having to leave office.

I remember lots of celebrations when Obama won both the first and second time.

As mentioned there were massive celebrations even bigger then this when Obama was elected as the first black President, but a secondary reason was that Bush was unpopular due to the Iraq War.

People celebrated when Nixon resigned.

Trigger warning negativity, cynicism and anger to follow;
INHO all of this celebration is premature. If one is to celebrate(more on that later) the correct day to celebrate is January 20, 2021 when hopefully the extremist elements of the MAGA’s including Trump let us move on and ATTEMPT to repair the damage they have done. Not only was yesterdays celebrations premature but as I mentioned in other threads now is the time to be most worried because we are entering the most dangerous time of the Trump era. He has nothing to lose now and as Fnord keeps pointing out being a “loser” is the thing he hates the most meaning the commander in chief the guy whose finger are near the nuclear button could well have a full on meltdown and this person has a lot of people who will do whatever illiberal thing he asks them to do.

Rant:
So many people are pissed at me because I have have been the ultimate Debbie downer pissing all over their celebrations. I say you optimists have been wrong about predicting that this will be the end of him, that will be the end of him over and over since he came down the escalator so your optimism holds no continence with me.

Hopefully I am wrong and on January 20 and he will be outta of here and on his way eventually to prison. Even then what is there to celebrate? Yes we would have corrected the mistake of 2016 but we made that horrific mistake in 2016. And we came damn close to making it again. Despite all that has happened since 2016 all that has changed since 2016 was a small percentage of votes in a few swing states. And everybody is patting themselves on the back for this?(SMH)

More self reflective part of this post to follow:
Thinking differently from the rest of the world, being the opposite place emotionally from the rest of the world is not a new experience for me. I have learned to accept it most of of the time but every once in awhile it gets to me and because so much is at stake this is one of those times. Thanks for listening.

Republicans aren't a demographic that can't help it.

Unlike for eg Mexicans or women.

I feel for you, or how it should be properly expressed in English.
The pain of being an independent thinker is quite a lot about being alone.
I hope the White House staff will assist the president in safely stepping down. Luckily, he's not omnipotent.

Trump did exceptional.

Sure, he lost a close race ... however ...

-Republicans look to capture 8-15 Democrat House seats

-Republicans likely to keep the Senate

-More people voted Republican than in any prior president election

-Socialist is a dirty word again.
a. Some Democrats say being labeled as a Socialist lost them or nearly lost their seats.

b. AOC says she may quit because "progressives" are being blamed
https://www.businessinsider.com/aoc-say ... es-2020-11

-Democrats continue to lose support from black men
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/bla ... w-n1246447

-Trump gained Hispanic vote in Texas, Florida

Thank you and “I feel for you” is a correct way of expressing those sentiments.
