What that says to me is, support for Republican House and Senate contenders was strong this time around but that didn't automatically translate into votes for Trump. In other words the party faithful have supported the GOP but not its current front man.

I'm not sure how socialism being a dirty word again is a good thing if that's affecting the Democrats. They're a moderately right wing party with a few centrist, social democrat style policies (not socialist, totally different thing). The allegation that the Democrats are socialist is completely false and as such you're flag-waving for a triumph of misrepresentation and stupidity over fact. What's so clever about that?

There are several Democrats who call themselves SOCIALIST.

There are many other Democrats who claim to be "progessive" and favor Socialist ideas.

The "squad" of self-labeled Socialist Democrats ...

I'm picturing Biden sometime in the near future saying, "Release the Kraken!"

They can describe themselves however they like, but social democrats aren't actually socialists by most reasonable definitions.

Regardless of what they call themselves, since when was a politician running on a self-described 'socialist' platform and winning an issue? Pure capitalism has never existed and it's perfectly reasonable to discuss the ideal 'mix' of elements within a mixed economy like every developed nation on earth has.

If the American people want a more 'socialized' economy, why would ideological puritans get to prevent the American people from pursuing the changes they prefer?

Perhaps some study of the 14 year long administration of Socialist President François Mitterrand of France could be instructive.

I don't fully align with the agenda of the Crew but I think they are important voices in Congress because they draw attention to important issues in our country that the center might not necessarily talk about every day.
