Biden has ‘bigger issues’ to worry about than following own mask mandate: Psaki

Quote:
President Biden has "bigger issues" to worry about than following his own rule about wearing a face mask on federal property, according to White House press secretary Jennifer Psaki.

The new president ditched his face mask for a period of time while addressing the public Wednesday from the Lincoln Memorial, on federal land, and as he stood at the foot of the statue of the nation’s 16th president, C-SPAN footage shows. He put his mask on after the address. Hours earlier, he had signed a mandate requiring masks on federal property, as well as on interstate public travel.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy questioned the press secretary about the Biden family’s maskless moments during a Thursday briefing. Psaki said that the president had been "celebrating" a "historic day in our country." She said he’d been surrounded by family.

At least the Lincoln Memorial event was outdoors. I do not know if the grandkids tested negative or were vaccinated beforehand. If not what they did was unsafe.

As for maskless Press Secretary Psaki while people were socially distant at the press conference the event was indoors. Unsafe.

As a person with a speech impediment due to innate reasons and tongue replacement surgery I more then understand mask wearing makes it harder to be understood and her job is to be understood. That said they do have to set an example. Trump was rightly heavily criticized for his lack of mask wearing. Yes Trump was worse, way worse with his continual downplaying of the disease, advocacy of quack treatments etc, etc. Trump is not President anymore you are, C’mon man.

The left will fall asleep, as they usually do when Democrats have control. Biden still won't support the private option for his healthcare plan -- during a deadly pandemic, no less.

He's already ramped up troops in Syria, a country desimated by war. (We dropped so many bombs there that we literally ran out in 2015.)

My primary reason for not voting for Biden was I can no longer support candidates who have a ling long history of supporting support the Military industrial complex. Only a few days into his presidency and I see I made the correct decision.

I can tell you that conservative media, beyond Fox News, has been reporting on high-profile Democrats breaking mask and social distance mandates that they've signed/openly supported for... quite some time now, in fact. The ones I remember them criticising were Pelosi, Newsom, and... there was one guy trying to give orders from a Mexican resort if I remember right.

There's even a recurring meme among the right wing (and maybe some centrists) for this kind of behavior: "Rules for thee but not for me."

Is it any wonder ordinary people don't mask up as much as they should?

And as for the press secretary, aren't there both (a) masks that make the mouth visible and (b) ways to sneak a microphone under a mask?
