Makes sense. I’m sure it especially makes sense when you follow the money.

Hmm ... while the National Post has been accused of anti-Islam sentiment (and there is ample evidence to support this), the article you cited (1) has nothing to do with any such sentiment, and (2) seems to be on the level (that is, unsensationalized). I mean "Trump + Putin + KGB" seems like a love triangle made in Hell, but it does not seem unreasonable, either.
Let me get back to you after I have looked into this a little deeper. Thanks for posting the link!
It wouldn't surprise me.
But still worth noting these are allegations from an ex-KGB agent, i.e. someone who has made a career out of lying just as much as the orange s**t gibbon.
Risky move for any secret service agent to go public, I wonder how long they'll last?
I suppose in their favour if they do have a nasty "accident" that'll validate the story, whereas not reacting at all leaves it wide open at 50/50. Not a game I'd want to be playing, though.

It's funny how this came up.
For a while now I have been thinking that Donald Trump did not make an independent decision to stand for president.
I remember saying to myself, someone somewhere in high places said to him "Do you fancy standing for US president? We will tell you all of the decisions you will be making, you will be unpopular, but we will make it worth your while"
I just knew there was something "else" involved with Trump's decision to stand for president, the only thing I got wrong was the Russians. I'm still not sure the Russians groomed him, maybe it was some high up freemasons, I think they go higher than 33 degrees. Mad as it sounds, the decision to put Trump as front man for the US could have come from somewhere other than earth. Science Fiction is often true beneath all of that fantastical stuff.

You need to stop dancing the Blow Top Boogie.
But...for the sake of argument...just curioius...why would space aliens care who we elect as POTUS? And how would it benefit folks from an exoplanet around another star to have Trump in the Oval office (rather than someone else)?
The Trump presidency hurt American security and benefitted Putin immensely - whether by coincidence, or by design.
But I dont see how the Trump presidency helped the Grey folks from the Pleiades much.

Exactly the point Veg.
When are you going to [redacted] realize that this in not the 1950s anymore, and that the modern Russian Republic is not the old USSR, and that McCarthyism has nothing to do with it?.
Trump singlehandedly turned the more anti Russian of the parties (the GOP) into a pro Russian party during the 16 campaign, and then as POTUS Trump scapegoated and undermined America's alliances at the expense of America, and to the benifit of Russia. Why would Trump do all of that if he were not in some way allied to Moscow?
And its commonly known that Trump has million$ of possible reasons to be an asset of Russia because it was Russian money that bailed his casinos in the past.
I am not asking you to prove one way or the other whether Trump colluded with Russia. What I am asking is can you for once provide an alternate explanation for WHY Trump has always acted like puppet of Putin if he isnt a puppet of Putin?
You know full well that comparing Russiagate to McCarthyism is malarkey. McCarthy spun tales of hidden communists in the state department without evidence to spread hysteria.
With Trump- it would be a bit hysterical to deny that Trumps relationship to Moscow at least looks suspicious. So you cant just dismiss the suspicions without providing alternative explanations for Trump's pro Russian policies.

Well, while this "puppet" stuff is possible, it seems rather an extraordinary claim and I would need extraordinary evidence to believe it.
Consider the following:
- Every US President since the end of the Cold War has started out their term trying to improve relations with Russia. For example, Obama had his "Russian reset".
- Donald Trump is stupid.
- Donald Trump's foreign policy has annoyed basically everyone, including, on occasion, Russia. Some actions of Trump's that particularly annoyed Russia were Trump's bombing of Bashar Al-Assad and the assassination of the Iranian General Soleimani. Syria and Iran are Russian allies. Trump also launched multiple rounds of sanctions against Russia.
- Trump irritated NATO allies... but they mostly responded by increasing their military spending. This is bad for Russia.
I would therefore conclude that Trump is probably NOT a Russian puppet, and the reason he took so many stupid actions which benefited Russia was because he was stupid and bad at foreign policy.

The idea that Trump behaved like a puppet of Putin is media-generated hysteria. What did he actually do vis a vis Russia that justifies this claim? And what would people have preferred he do – start a shooting war?
As Oliver Stone said to Stephen Colbert a few years ago, Israel has more influence over US politics than Russia, but the people who go on about Russia rarely ever talk about this.
I mean, look at what Trump did for Israel:
- Withdrew from the nuclear monitoring agreement with Iran
- Moved the US embassy to Jerusalem
- Recognized Israeli sovereignty over Syria’s Golan Heights
- Allowed paroled spy Jonathan Pollard to move to Israel
- Gave a full pardon to former Israeli solder Aviem Sella, who was previously indicted in the U.S. in relation to the Jonathan Pollard spying-for-Israel case
Does anything Trump did for Russia compare with any of this?

You can read the same article the rest of us did. That's the info we have available to us. EVIDENCE of this stuff is above out security clearance & I'm sure something that the FBI/CIA & possibly court system may be dealing with vs. anything printed in a newspaper..

Right, but does it not make sense that Russia could have groomed him as this article says? That they made efforts they weren't sure would pay off or how until they did? trump is stupid, but it's entirely plausible that Russia acknowledge that he could be

Yes - making Americans lose faith in their own government & system of government and election integrity etc. THAT was Putin's objective and he succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. The goal wasn't to go to war with the USA, but to ruin them from the inside with disinformation and BS that makes people lose faith in America - to destabilize the largest Western Democracy superpower in the world. That's way more valuable to Russia than a few perks are to Israel.
