Using the Book of Psalms as a spell book

Everyone here pretty much knows about my fascination with witchcraft, folk magic, and the occult.

One subject that I find very intriguing is the use of Psalms in the Bible as a literal spellbook. It's commonly found in practices like Hoodoo for example. Reciting specific verses in Psalms while performing various rituals is said to do anything from cure illnesses like blindness, protect soldiers fighting in distant lands, protect pregnant mothers in childbirth, hex ones enemies, gain the favor of powerful people in authority, and even aid in prophetic dreams and divination.

For anyone else curious about this here is a website with a list of various uses for the different verses of Psalms. I myself have started reciting some of these when I read my cards for fortune telling.
