Canada has always had enough of our own stupidity to not need to blame Murka for when we're stupid.
sacre bleu! my time in canada exposed me to basic civilized decency, never ran into any nastiness 'cept one time in victoria back in '79 i saw some yahoos cuss one another out over the fact that one drove over another's foot.
I make as many Canada jokes as any red-blooded 'murican, but that aside, I don't really think Canada is all bad. The only time I'm sincerely critical of Canada is when liberals make Canada out to be some utopia that has solved all 'murican problems. It has not. Canada has problems, same as any society. So when someone pops up singing Canada's praises and how superior Canada is to the USA, I point to the inaccessibility of free health care to some and to the poor treatment of First Nations peoples. The truth is that Canada's socialized health care system probably is superior to ours in terms of actual delivery, though both Canada's and USA's system are fatally flawed in principle. It gets comical when a leftist points to American racism without acknowledging their own. That's when I pull out the Critical Race Theory*** playbook and show them the absurdity of their comparisons.
***I don't actually buy into CRT. I think CRT is one component of a socialist agenda, the same old thing rebranded and restyled. The absurdity of "Canada Is The Promised Land" lies in the absurdity of leftist claims. In other words--nobody is perfect.
Thankfully the idea of Canada as some sort of liberal utopia seems to be mostly limited to American liberals and progressives, although my ex Tsion definitely was one of those people when her and I started dating.
I had a Canadian in mind, actually, and this is a person who tends to be highly vocal about how awful USA is and how superior Canada is. Both countries do some things better than the other. Canada as a nation knows how to get maple syrup right. All the USA has in that regard is Vermont--but everyone in the USA knows that molasses is better on your biscuits than maple syrup. The USA knows how to get bourbon and Tennessee whiskey right, and Canadian whisky and beer are but cheap imitations. Canada has Smarties. The USA has diabetes. Loving your homeland, nationalistic pride, and so forth are just marks of a good citizen no matter where you come from.
But when you tout your country as embodying some ideal at the expense of someone from a country you openly despise? Now you're just begging for an intellectual butt-whoopin'.

I've encountered Canadians like that but it's easier to develop cynicism about Canada when one educates themselves better about Canada (which at least some of us choose to do).
Canada in a lot of ways is America but more passive-aggressive and polite and more cunning about hiding behind a false sense of self. A lot of America's worst crimes are public knowledge whereas Canada has been able to conceal some of ours better.

Gov. DeSantis introduces ‘Stop Woke Act’ to keep ‘critical race theory’ out of classrooms
DeSantis introduced the “Stop W.O.K.E. Act” during a rally-style event in Central Florida.
DeSantis said the legislation would put into law the Florida Department of Education’s prohibition on “critical race theory” in K through 12 schools that was approved in June.
DeSantis says it teaches kids to hate each other.
The “Stop Wrongs against Our Kids and Employees Act” would also give parents the ability to file lawsuits to enforce the prohibition of CRT, defund any money for K-12 or higher education going to CRT consultants and ban CRT concepts from employee training in schools.
Florida Education Association (FEA) President Andrew Spar, who leads the state’s largest teachers union, released a statement Wednesday in response to Gov. DeSantis’ announcement:
“Teachers are trained and experienced in educating children and have a duty to prepare their students to be successful contributors to society. Teachers should have the freedom to teach honest, complete facts about historical events like slavery and civil rights without being censored by politicians. The governor’s announcement today goes against this fundamental American value. All Florida’s children should receive a fact-based education that doesn’t change depending on their ZIP code.”

I wish I could move to Florida, at least I wouldn't need to deal with Ice all the time.
Ps. 60th parallel inhabitant.
Uh... no. Communism is an economic system, which CRT is not. As I recall, civil rights, labor rights, women's rights, LGBTQ rights, interracial marriage, and many other progressive movements were labeled communistic by the right simply because they didn't approve of them.

CRT is commuism and movements to encourage gayness and interracial sex are also often communist too.

You know the difference between communism and freedom to choose?
