Mini-rant: Be Less White?

Be less white...
I thank my lucky stars I'm not employed. I can just imagine being shown a new employee training program telling me to combat racism by being less white. Okay, how do I be less white? Because I don't think my skin color has anything to do with who I am on the inside. Do they expect me to walk up to African Americans and start speaking their lingo or something? I think that annoys them. Do I have to give up listening to Rock music and start taking in Hip Hop? To Hell with that. Hip Hop does to me what any mouth sounds does to my ears. Maybe I should just burn off all my skin and call it a day. Nobody will be able to tell if I'm white if I HAVE NO SKIN. *sigh* I hate wokeness.

Is that actually a thing; being told to be "less white"?

I wish people would get over the skin colour issue.
As Ras Tafari aka Haile Selassie put it

For me, its not "Black Lives Matter"
Not because I am racist, quiet the opposite. I am not into white power, black power or any other colour power.

For me, its not "Black Lives Matter" as that carries with it hate and provokes anger, even self righteous anger.

For clean transformation without hate, knowledge overpowering hate
we need "ALL LIVES MATTER!"

Yes, Coca-cola have recently been in the news for telling their employees to "be less white" in one of their training courses.

dam honky's... (only joking, I have white skin myself, although we all the same colour on the inside)...

Not in any Employee's Handbook I have ever read or in and Sensitivity Training I have ever attended.

Coca-Cola's racism be damned, however.  It is as offensive as:

• "Have you tried being less gay?"

• "Have you tried being less religious?"

• Have you tried being less intellectual?"

• Have you tried being less autistic?"

I think some are perhaps a natural at being less intellectual...

someone should start up the less intellectual and proud movement...

or the less neural typical and proud movement...

the more neurally diverse movement...

the hairy and proud movement... (or have they had that one already, in the 70s readers w's)...

the male prematurely balding movement...

although i forget you guys live in the US, so perhaps all the above have already been used...

It is probably not just Cola Cola. They are using a training manual by Robin DiAngelo author of the best-selling book "White Fragility". Ms. DiAngelo has been described by the New Yorker as "perhaps the country’s most visible expert in anti-bias training, a practice that is also an industry, and from all appearances a prospering one." According to the conservative Washington Examiner "The training then moves to a slide with instructions on how employees can “be less white.” “Be less oppressive, be less arrogant, be less certain, be less defensive, be less ignorant, be more humble, listen, believe, break with apathy, break with white solidarity” are listed as ways to become less white."

We all should “Be less oppressive, be less arrogant, be less certain, be less defensive, be less ignorant, be more humble, listen, believe, break with apathy". If saying these negative traits are inherently white is not racist I do not know what is. That these and related beliefs have such a foothold in cooperate America is terrifying.

The problem is that "ALL LIVES MATTER" is unspecific. Who's "all"?
"WE THE PEOPLE" used to refer to a few white male slave owners, and had to be extended, group by group, in sometimes bloody conflict.

I like the Solution the Haitian Revolutionaries came up with: Haiti was a French colony, but when the French decapitated gheur king, the Haitians too thought they were now free. Much to the confusion of the French Revolutionaries, I might add, because they hadn't thought of the colonized people when they talked about equality, freedom, and brotherhood.

So the Haitians had their own revolution and founded their own, free state,and declared it a "black nation". To get around the problem of white people on Haiti, they also declared, that from now on, on Haiti, everyone will be considered black.

That's what "Black lives mattee" means, it's specifically mentioning that even Black lives matter, not just ALL LIVES*


*Definition of "ALL" might vary

In the South and Utah, being less religious would work wonders. There’s no culture, the women (and probably most of the men) are sexually frigid, and anything even remotely amusing is considered evil.

Combating racism with racism. We are truly living in Clown World.

I don't see anything offensive about being less religious. I would think it would mean stop forcing it on others like "You guys can't have a party, that is against my religion" or

Them: how can you guys go without me and not tell me?
You: Because you have church and we don't want to end our trip short or having to hunt for a church just because you can't skip it for that week so we went without you


But please do your religion in a way as "I can't go because I have church, you guys go have fun." or "I am not able to attend because it's against my religion but have fun you all."


About being less intellectual, people have "dumbed" themselves down to fit in. Pretend they didn't know as much, using less fancy words and use general terms that many of us use in our daily language. Not hold their hand up in class as much.

Being less autistic, that just basically means learn better social skills and working on our empathy.

About gay, there is no less. That is just a sexuality and I don't see how it affects behavior and what you wear. I have known lot of gay people and they all looked oh my gosh, normal. They looked like regular people, how horrible. Even my dad's brother is gay and they look like regular men.

I don't know where being "less white" would get me. I'd probably end up being accused of being a racist, AGAIN.

"All lives matter" being the antithesis of "Black lives matter" is an non-sequitur, illogical statement designed to cause conflict and cause "racist" incidents between groups. Words mean things.
