Most cultures of the temperate zones of the planet break the years apart at somewhere around the vernal equinox.

The new year starts with the start of spring.

Makes sense.

Doesnt it?

The Iranians are no exception.

Why the heck does the modern Western World make the new year start in the dead of Winter between December and January?

I think that it was Guy Lambardo's fault. He invented the Western World's New Years holiday. He messed it up! Lol!

Because... Gregorian calendar?

Mother’s day is also celebrated on March equinox in the arab world.
