I have seen this since I was a child and I used to work out what was going on in the countries politics..
I can't say I am 100% pro one party and against the others because there is not a party I will 100% agree with, but out of the main two UK parties, I would say I find myself agreeing more with the Conservative policies then the Labour as I have seen and remembered the times Labour has been in power and messed things up by having a repeated cycle of needlessly overspending, and each time Conservatives came into power they had to cut back but they cut back too much...

Two things I do not like in politics. The first is that one party will have brought forward a lot of good ideas along with a few bad ones. Eventually the bad ideas will cause issues which leads to the next party getting in (And so on), but what I hate is when the second party will not only change the bad ideas that need changing, but they will change the good ideas just because it was the last party that put them in and that is petty and all the main parties that have got into power do it or have done it! Why?

The second things is that poloticians from one party will vote against a very good idea just because the other party declared the idea, even though they know it is a good idea and it will work. They have to "Tow the line" and be the "Opposition"... But EXCUSE ME! Aren't you all our MP's? Aren't you all supposed to be voting for or against whatever is proposed based on the advantages or dissadvantages of the idea itself and not based on who proposes the idea? Because you are employed on OUR behalf and for OUR benefit. I have sen opposition parties vote against good ideas when if the truth be told, they actually like and want the idea, but they just don't want the party in power to get the credit for the idea. Now that is STUPID, and ANY PARTY THAT DOES THAT SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ALLOWED TO BE INVOLVED IN POLITICS.

Now many very good rhings come from politicians and they work very hard on all sides to bring about the changes we need, and yes, we do need an opposition so we have various other points of view, and we need these viewpoints so our politicians can hear them so they can decide on whatever is being voted for. But lets get rid of this pettiness please. Lets bring forward honesty where each MP can be open to vote and say "Yes. That is a good idea" (If it is good) and not be confined to follow the party line just because a party leader bears a grudge.
It s a shame we can't have a system that gets rid of parties but allows every MP to be independent. Sadly I can't see a way it would work in a practical way.

What I am trying to say is that all the work one party does in a country which is good, another party gets in and destroys, but then they have other good ideas, and the first party gets back in and destoys.
Why can't we keep the good things others have done and only alter the things that do not work so well? Why does everything have to be so pettily political in politics is what I am trying to say in this thread.

The stimulus check is hugely popular among voters of both parties in the US. But all Republicans in congress voted against it. Some even took credit FOR the money going to their constituents in ads to their local constituents while simultaneously voting against it.

So I guess that would be an example of you're talking about.
