Biden plans to run for reelection in 2024

The president was asked at his first press conference on Thursday about his future plans, with a reporter noting that by this time in his presidency, former President Trump had already launched a reelection campaign.

Biden laughed at the remark.

“My predecessor needed to,” Biden responded. “My predecessor, oh God I miss him.”

Biden later appeared frustrated by a follow-up question about his election plans.

I said that’s my expectation,” he said. “Look, I don’t understand where you guys come from. ... I’m a great respecter of fate, I’m not going to be able to plan 3 1/2 years ahead for certain.”

But he said that if he does run again, he expects Vice President Harris will be his running mate.

He has a very clear advantage over Trump (should he run again), but it saddens me that we’ll have to wait until 2028 for an AOC presidency.

It’s time for young women of color to lead. I only wish AOC were LGBT and not a Christian.

I think that could be a serious mistake for the Democrats. He's doddery all ready, and will be far too old by 2024 to serve for another term (assuming he won).

Thats like reporting that "experts say that the Sun will rise tomorrow!".

You would assume that a POTUS would want a successful first term, and then run for a second term.

But yeah...

Had he run in 16 and won he would have been a vigorous president in his first term. But he is starting his first term when he should have started his second term- and I agree that he is already a little bit beyond his "sell by date".

If either he, or Trump, are still mentally sound and alive in 2024 is an open question. And if the later is still alive, and only as incompentent as he is now, he might be either in exile, or in an orange jumpsuit, by then.

I think that Trump and Biden will both be too old to be president by than. We need someone who's young and spry and understands what it's like to be LGBTQ.

It’s about making right-wing heads explode.

Their only reason for voting for Trump in 2016 is because the alternative was a female president.

Nothing wrong with Biden saying he will run again in four years. Whether or not his health is up to it remains to be seen in 2024. Sure as sh*t, though, I'd much prefer to see Biden run and be reelected than Trump.
