It's obvious that Trump incited the crowd to storm the Capitol. Just look at the videos.

In essence, he told the crowd to "take care of business."

Later on, he told the rabble to "Go home now. Be in peace. I love you."

Which is completely wrong.

They've caught themselves in a trap of their own making.

They either decide that these private individuals should not have control over their private property and services, which goes against their bullheaded insistence of corporate freedom and government non-interference in the market.

Or they decide that these private individuals should have control over their private property and services, which goes against their desire to say whatever they want online without any consequences of any kind from any private individuals anywhere ever.

[...]
So ... in order to be able to subvert privately-owned social platforms to spread Fascist propaganda, members of the Reich must support the Socialist idea of uninhibited public access to private property.

I don't think the word "fascist" means what you think it means.

I don't think the word "server" means what you think it means.

That doesn't address the issue of censorship, which is always in favor of the political establishment and the corporate interests that own them.

The voices that are being censored are on the left and the right. If that's perfectly alright with you, then you don't have a f*****g clue what I'm talking about.

Who knows, maybe a voice you value will come under fire. If so, will you lay down and take it up the ass? Probably!

Actually it's mostly just people saying sh***y stuff like that getting "censored", it's a kind of sick way to use language IMO & you don't really see that coming from the left.

Dude take it down a notch, you have no idea who any of us are.

So, how exactly might this be resolved?

You're right that it's a concern that two sets of rights might come into conflict here.

To what extent should privately owned companies be obliged to tolerate political extremists? Should ISIS be allowed to operate a YouTube account so long as they don't post any videos of terrorist activity? Should the Jan 6th organizers been able to conduct that openly? Obviously there needs to be a line, some political speech clearly isn't protected (like recruiting for terrorist organizations), but even that presents grey area, what about front groups recruiting? :chin:

No! It's not people just saying "sh***y stuff" that's being censored. It's good journalists who are being shut down, because they are stating opinions that are contrary to the political establishment.

Why do you insist on defending that?

You're still missing the point. I've been watching how the MSM has silenced voices that ate ate contrary to the political establishment for years. Suddenly. they're heroes for censoring Trump. That's a troubling trend. Anybody who defies Trump is now a good person. regardless of the bad things they've done.

This is a recipe for getting a worse Trump down the road.

Nevertheless, Trump is so dangerously negligent that left unchecked a lot more people might die as a result of something he says.

People are dying right now. Biden ordered an airstrike on Syria right out of the gate. Does that not disturb you? He did it without Congressional approval, I might add, which is against the Constitution.

I'm not exactly surprised that any American government would do this nor do I approve of it, but let's not pretend Trump was above warlike actions or something.

"That's not fair!" is the battle-cry of those who fail to get what they want.

Truthfully neo-cons & conservatives have about as much in common as apples & oranges. If a conservative thought something, these days the equivalent neo-cons feel empowered to run someone over with a literal truck to add weight to their points.

Then they will whine to us that it's not fair.

What if I told you that not only am I not conservative, but ive been accused of being a liberal by conservatives more times than I can count?

I just dont think banning Donald Trump from Twitter was fair on the company's policy.
