I'm just so f*****g bored of him.

Come on people of England. Please don't let him be our pm for any longer than he needs to be.

He's a f*****g balloon head. He never answers a question. He speaks in riddles and at best in metaphors. He's got absolutely zero charisma.

I could go on but I'm just so bored of him.

Get this fat lazy clown out of number 10 please.

He's a true master of his craft which seems to be dodging important questions.

I feel like half the population has been hypnotised.

The people who are pro Boris haven't even got anything to say about him other than what a funny down to earth person he seems to be. Personally I don't see this in him but even if I did see what they mean it makes no sense to keep in as prime minister.

I'd really love to know exactly what this man has done for the country over the last few years that no one else could have done.

Brexit was going to happen anyway and if it wasn't him in power when the pandemic hit then it would have been someone else's job to make decisions during that time. Apart from these two things and that people seem to think he is "quintessentially English" then I have heard no one give any reasonable reason for voting for him.

Quintessentially English? FFS people of the UK Get real. The guys a f*****g joke.

I mean; what have the tories done for you as an individual? That's the question people should ask themselves when they make their vote.

I don’t like him either and I’m from the US.Shouldn't his name be something other than Boris if he’s “quintessentially English”?
Something like Graham or Nigel?

I agree.

Problem is that none of the present leaders seem to be what the majority want. The last election result seemed like something of a fluke to me, its not much that the Conservatives won, its that the other parties lost.

Whilst we wait for a charismatic and visionary leader to emerge I guess we are stuck with the current mediocrity - of whatever political colour......

Well Im going to have to vote green.

The other thing that bugs me is food banks. I know this has been going on for many many years and way before this government but its like its become normalised for people to just accept going to the food bank for their weekly shop.

People really need to see that this just shouldn't be acceptable. It's not just people on benefits either. It's people who work full-time jobs and because the minimum wage or so called living wage is just too low they cannot afford to buy food from the supermarkets.

There's also this 20 quid on the benefits that they are cutting. People are saying it's not a cut but it is because people needed that £20 before it was given to them. And £20 could be the difference between sending you child to bed hungry and not. 20 quid a week is nothing when you consider that politicians get £25 a day meal allowance.

It's disgusting to be honest. It seems to me that Boris Johnson and his party are leaving people to starve and freeze.

He talks about making this Christmas better than last. Well it cnt be any worse since we were all in f*****g isolation anyway.

Labour member. I consider myself to be a 'pragmatic socialist' . For me it is self evident that the left can be most influential as part of a Labour government. It may not be dominant but it will be less irrelevant in terms of influencing policy.

There are those on the hard left unable to grasp that . That is very frustrating. A major flaw of the Labour left has always been the compulsion to go too far too fast in creating a more socialist society.

I'm partially a socialist in that I detest materialism and consumerism, and can't see why anyone needs or should have more than about £25,000 to £50,000 per year. I'm also from a Northern working class background, and can't identify a great deal with the lifestyles and opinions of the British middle classes and upwards.

I'd find it very difficult to vote Labour though, mainly because of their obsession with identity politics and political correctness, which I loathe.

Thing is, that after Thatcher left office, the Tories tried a couple of more traditionally Conservative leaders in Duncan-Smith and Howard, but these guys just failed to make much impact. After that, the Tories capitulated and elected their own versions of Tony Blair, namely Cameron, May and now Johnson. They also seem to be scared to say anything against the ridiculously named 'progressive' consensus on social and cultural matters, and have taken the soft option of embracing that agenda, which is another reason I'll never vote for them.

Yeah, I'm Labour at heart but Im just finding it really difficult at the moment to want to vote for them. I love Angela Raynor and when she speaks I feel like she is actually speaking on behalf of me in the exact language that I would use. Unfortunately for Angela I really don't think that world is ready for her yet especially with what Labour have turned into since maybe the Tony Blair era. For me he completely ruined Labour with his centre left policies.

I think that Blair was essentially a Thatcherite as far as his economic policies went. He and Gordon Brown made no secret of their admiration for Margaret Thatcher, and she herself, when asked what was her most memorable achievement, said 'Tony Blair'!

Blair's government made no attempt to take any of the privatized industries back into public ownership, and even extended the privatization programme. Brown was prepared to do almost anything to win the approval of the City of London fatcats, and his 'light touch regulation' of the banks was a major cause of the 2007-8 financial crisis.

Brown also cut income tax to 20%, well below what it ever was under Thatcher (33% to 25%).

I think that Labour can do really good things for the UK still but I really think they have a way to go at the moment. It's great to still support a team when it's struggling but is it right to put them in power when they still need to get strong again.
