Meanwhile, 74,871 Texans have died from Covid since the pandemic began.

I will never again vote for another Republican until Greg Abbott no longer has a stranglehold on the Texas GOP.

Masks are dumb, they're medical theater to reassure anxious people rather than having any real practical effect. I only wear one to avoid drama due to the mandate in my state, and then for as little as I can get away from, not least of all because they give me a panic attack if I wear one for too long, I can't wait for this particular silliness to go away.

I love the wearing mask thing, it's been great for me, it's like wearing a... well a mask but a social one Image

Since I began wearing masks in public, I have only 1 asthma attack a month (at most) instead of 3 or 4 each week before wearing masks became "fashionable".  Living near Los Angeles is not good for asthma anyway, so I am retiring out-of-state (maybe even out-of-CONUS).

Abbott and Cruz certainly are.

The only Texas Republican I have any respect for is Sen. Cornyn.

Texas Dems, however, have to do better than Beto.

I'd ask that you play nicely but we all know that some of the contributors just can't do that, which is disappointing.
So if there's any more of it, this thread will be locked.

Mmm . . . no.

What I mean is that while I object to Texas' authoritarian leaders and draconian laws, the people themselves can be rather pleasant, especially those living and working in Austin.  I would relocate there but for the heat, the humidity, and the state's political climate.

Yes, the humidity is what gets you.

The authoritarian bigotry of the TX GOP is what gets me...but the humidity certainly doesn't help.
