Now tell me, what would the motive for that be? What, you didn't think I'd ask?

That’s quite an easy one to answer. Putin is inflicting widespread human rights abuses in Russia, and he believes Ukraine should be part of Russia. His motive will be the same as in Russia - maintaining his power.

^ If there is any validity to your argument go ahead and list here what planned human rights abuses will be inflicted in Ukraine. Let us see.

If Putin has his way:

- Ukrainian democracy will be overthrown
- the free Ukrainian press will be suppressed
- the right to protest will be ended or severely curtailed
- Putin’s political opponents will be imprisoned

^Yep.....that's exactly what's going to happen in Ukraine.
