Will Donald Trump try to run again in 2028 if he loses the 2024 election? That is, if he is still alive by then.

I hope not. The bigger question is whether or not the GOP will exist by then.

I hope he chokes on his last cheeseburger before that happens.

Heres the way I see it: Trump does what is best for him and his supporters not the US. He has been given off ramps but he has not taken them. I feel the consensus is that he is a nut-job and he and his "policies" will be ruinous for the US and the world in general. If he had gone quietly after his last fiasco as president he would not have been prosecuted. He could have been given something shiny and given a way to placate his huge ego. Instead he is acting like a whiny child (brat) and wants to say he is being treated unfairly and the last election was stolen from him. This is what happens when you raise a spoiled child who is not taught to take responsibility for his own actions The disturbing part is that he is attracting nut-jobs like MTG and Ted Cruz and other sycophants who want to help him achieve his goals.

Would the Republicans still support him if he loses them two elections in a row? I know its a weird cult thing but most of these old white guys don't have much time left. Surely they would roll the dice rather than get behind a two-time loser again?

No, he is campaigning as a ploy to avoid his court trials.
If he loses running again won't help his legal issues.
If he loses he is done.

Trump will run again because his mojo is based on grievance and a second defeat will only add to that. MAGA’s will continue to support him because they will think he won the elections. The old white guys that die off are being replaced by people of color guys.

His death will not make the MAGA movement go away, it might actually make MAGA’s more dangerous. The belief will be he is a murdered martyr and some will believe he will rise from the dead. Non MAGA Trump voters will vote for whoever passes as a replacement for Trump. To understand this thinking take Bill Barr. He said he will vote for the Republican nominee because “ Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but a continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide”. I see no reason the Trump replacement won’t be seen as the the lesser of two evils compared with the “woke/socialist” Democratic nominee. I can envision Never Trumpers voting for this person.

Many polls show him ahead as of this writing but I'm just not sure how this race will go. If Trump gets beaten by Biden, it will be more of " It was stolen" blah blah blah. I cannot stomach politics anymore overall but The GOP is just poison to me.

In 28 he will be 82, which is a year younger than Bernie Sanders is now.

But he will probably hafta run from a prison cell.

If he wins and implements Project 2025, I am worried the only way to get him out of power would be assassination.

Trump wins in 2024: He gets another 4 years in office to even further damage the image of the GOP, but the GOP will be extremely relieved they never have to worry about Trump running again. Unless he wants to pull an FDR--just even less legal than when Frank did it.
Trump loses in 2024: He declares the election rigged and will run again in 2028 and 2032 and so on barring health issues or someone else winning the primary.

The first one sucks, but I try to focus on the positives: if he loses, he will be a bitter, resentful fixture of the GOP for years to come. The longer Trump stays involved in politics, the more damage he does to the GOP brand.

At this point, the GOP may need to be outlawed.

He'll be a tired old man by 2028, mired in legal troubles and will hopefully be less relevant by then.

Maybe Trump Jr., or Ivanka, will take up the torch from their aging dad. And we will have a hereditary dynasty. Like the Kims in North Korea! :D
