Religion was probably just at tool created by aliens to enslave humans. Created to filter out high iqs and cause them to be socially ostracized and lower their chances of reproduction. Like the tower of babel they don't want humans getting too big for their britches. But they don't want humans too dumb, they need to be smart enough to work as slaves.

What slave work are we doing for aliens? Pumping and burning oil to create greenhouse gases to alter the atmosphere so the Earth is more inhabitable for them?

Somehow I don't think depleting the Earth's various resources is going to benefit some alien race, whether oil or trees or oxygen etc.

yeah the worker slave theory might be wrong. still think religion might be a control mechanism made by aliens.

in the they live movie its a metaphor of indoctrination, there is a fight scene where the black guy Refuses to listen to the guy wearing the sunglasses. this is like a metaphor of religious people, religion is like a mental illness and u cannot convince fundamentalists of anything. if a preacher says water is dry theyll believe it
