Everybody wants to rule the world.

I don't.

China has some serious internal issues. Their population will start to shrink, which will increase its internal pressures to support the elderly. They cannot accept immigrants to fix this.

Remember, in the year 1900 people were saying China was going to dominate the world. Outsiders discount their internal pressures which have consistently kept them from projecting power for centuries.

Per person, China was richer in 1250 than it was in 1900. They've got a billion people and they aren't as unified as it appears.

You are in a safe place.
Australia is on the doorstep of China's political sphere of influence.
I doubt you have been keeping track of current events in regard to the CCP's jingoistic aggression as much as I have.

I have been talking about Chinese aggression since before it was recognised in the mainstream media.
I have been accused of racism because I was warning what was happening.
And yet, he we are, with the entire western world now talking about the concerns of the possibility of WWIII starting in the Pacific.

If you are trying to placate me/Australia, I thank you for your intentions, but putting our collective heads in the sand won't change the reality of the situation.

Well that is something we have in common, like it or not. ruling sounds like a huge hassle I'd never want to have to deal with that.

I dont see any reason to discount the suspicion that the PPR wants world domination, nor with the suspicion that China thinks long term to get it.

All the more reason to not get hysterical.

To paraphrase George Kennan "dont respond to a marathon runner by running a sprint".

They cant project power across the Pacific and seize Australia and put you into a gulag today, tomorrow, nor the next day. And you yourself are asserting that they are playing a "100 year game" ( ie are running a marathon race that will extend beyond your lifetime). So just stay calm. Keep your neighbors friendly to you...because those neighbors (India, Vietnam, Phillipines, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan) are all potential partners in keeping China contained. And strengthen your alliances with the rest of the Anglosphere (US, UK, Canada), and just stay sane (as well as "awake to the coffee").

I agree Pepe, I keep imagining what it will look like here in the US.

What we know:

1. They are buying up huge tracts of farming land unopposed in places like Oklahoma. Probably elsewhere, this just happens to be the place I have friends who are screaming for our 'leaders' to do something about it.
2. They have a growing influence in Latin America in places like Brazil and Venezuela.
So they are inside of us and around us... this has been happening for a while.
3. Enter Covid-19
4. Fentanyl
5. Balloons (weather )
6. UFOs invading our airspace from the North ( Russia in cahoots with, idk ? )

There are probably more, but these are the things that are easy to recall for the purposes of this discussion.

Now, how will they go about it? To use Nuclear power is counterproductive, you can't claim dominion over a wasteland. While I believe the balloon was surveying our arms cache locations, how will they overcome the NORAD? Or any of the other radar/planes to destroy them?
Ground troops will meet armed resistance by the Army and citizens.

How are they going to do it? Because I believe they can, I just don't have sufficient knowledge to imagine all the possible f**kery they have to hand. Let's all pool our collective amazing brains to anticipate the moves of this ruthless country.

* the most logical explanation I can come up with is that they'll have inside help. But, I just have a really hard time imagining all of my countrymen and women turning on their own families in sufficient numbers to accomplish this.
