Biblical Events Unfolding?

With recent events a Bible scripture came to me "Let those in Judea flee to the mountains".

So I looked it up and found that the Gaza strip lies in its entirety in the westernmost part of the old Judean boundary.

So I looked up this scripture because it is easy to jump to conclusions here, with the terrible events which are happening. (If one sees where the attacks took place both in Israel and in Gaza pretty much all of it (Or most of it) lies in the old Judean boundary... This is a lot to take in!

So let's look at the scripture that came to me as examine what it says.

Now I honestly don't know where the mountains are. But when one thinks how people had to just quickly flee and one can say this for the people on both sides, and the destruction involved (Please read the scripture in the link or get a Bible and read. (Is Mathew 24 verse 15 onwards)) that things are looking that way!

The event known as "Armageddon" is prophesied to take place on the Plains of Megiddo, in northern Israel near Kibbutz Megiddo, about 30 kilometres south-east of Haifa.

While not necessary to bring about the "Rapture" event, Armageddon will be a significant signpost for the prophesied End Times.

In Islamic theology, Armageddon is also mentioned in Hadith as the "Greatest Armageddon" or "Al-Malhama Al-Kubra" (the "Great Battle").

Personally, I have no great concern over such "prophesies", since history is rife with end-of-the-world "prophesies" that never came true.

I shortened and corrected a few words due to this stupid autopredictive text keyboard, and to get more to the point.

Only time will tell to be honest. This could be what is described as "Birth pangs". Or it could be the real deal. Armageddon is the valley where a huge battle is to take place. Napoleon said it was the perfect place for a battle. Quite when this will happen I do not know but the scale of the battle described is said to be massive.

I don't believe in any of it, but if it is true I'm obviously going to hell since I do things like wear at least two different kinds of fabric, eat cheeseburgers, being left-handed, and speaking my mind even though I'm female. And I'm a misotheist.

The human race is still more doomed than the dinosaurs, though. There's just no reason to do anything worthwhile anymore. Also it's my own generation's fault (Gen X) for having made so many movies and TV shows and video games about the world ending or the aftermath of it, that Gen Z has pretty much given up on life. I might be one of them trapped in a Gen X's body.

Whenever bad stuff is happening, people predict that the end is here. I don’t believe in the Bible, so I don’t believe in Bible prophecies.

What’s currently happening is horrific, though, but it’s not all that uncommon in terms of human history and experience.

As far as the so-called evangelicals are concerned, we are already living in the end times. They have been saying that for the past 66 years (my entire lifetime). Every time I run into These characters, I get told I’m going to Hell, because they are of the opinion that the Rapture will happen tomorrow, even though Scripture plainly says only God himself (not the Son, nor the Holy Ghost) knows when this will happen. I usually respond “Gottes seit ist die Allerbeste Seit.” (Roughly translated, God’s time is the best time.), which is also the title of J. S. Bach’s Funeral cantata. Most of the evangelicals don’t know when to shut up.

By the way, why do these ministers spread gloom and doom when the the ter evangelical, when translated from the Greek means “good news?”

In addition, I sometimes get the thought that the end will come just like the concluding lines of T. S. Eliot poem “The Hollow Men”:

“This is the way the world shall end,
Not with a bang but a whimper.”

Because they need to convince people they’re miserable in order to buy their nonsense and to keep coming back, especially in demanding denominations. In my former church, at least the first half of the sermon was always about how bad things were, demonstrating why we needed God’s Kingdom and the message. It’s quite manipulative now that I think about it.

It's closer to 2000 years, since the death of Jesus the Nazarene.

Christians are taught to behave more Christ-like because Jesus may return at any time and without warning.

By the time you hear the "Great Shout" or the "Trumpet Blast", the "Rapture Event" may already be over.

Folks are fleeing from the flat areas of southern Israel where this happened, but....

Israelie civilians are fleeing to airports in the big cities on the Israeli coast.

Palestinian civilians flee to Gaza ...where they get trapped and are forced to remain. Gaza is also on the coastal lowlands.

Neither group is fleeing towards any kind of "mountains".

Current events are not following the chronology laid out in the Bible, so it cannot really be said that "Biblical Events" are unfolding.

Man that's just a bunch of hogwash some ancient people wrote down, so it likely does not mean much of anything these days. The only apocalypse that will happen is one of our own doing, it's just a self fullfilling prophecy of human kind saying f**k you to that planet they live on and destroying it with hopefully finding enough tech to move to another planet before the sun eventually super-novas and destroys half this solar system including our planet anyways.

I'd be surprised if the people who are living in fear for their lives have either the time or the inclination to look to the bible to make any kind of comparison

I'd probably be inclined to abandon religion altogether if I wasn't already a heathen in such a scenario. I wouldn't want to worship a god who allows stuff like this to happen.
