I can only see this happening if there were protests that exceeded the ability of police forces to deal with them.

The military are a last resort for dealing with civilians. I doubt even Trump doesn't realise that.

I doubt even his supporters would tolerate soldiers in the streets. It would certainly get him impeached. It goes against their ideals about civil liberty, and "big government"

Because who knows what's going to happen, or even if he is inaugurated?

I guess there's some scenario in which he's not inaugurated, but his reelection is a done deal at this point, unless prevented by some catastrophic event.

I wouldn't treat it as a done-deal, even if it's a very likely outcome.

Besides, he's a geezer who lives off of fastfood. His heart is a ticking timebomb.

The catastrophic event I had in mind. But a bad wager if you ask me.

It's not even the only health issue that might sideline Trump. He's been increasingly senile over the past year, the guy's mental acuity is obviously in decline. He wouldn't be the first senile president Republicans have put into office, but he might be the most obvious one.

Let me explain why I think Trump's reelection is basically a done deal now. Without going into too much detail, before 7 October there was a small possibility Biden could have won reelection. But Biden's response to the outbreak of violence in Gaza, which has been unapologetically sympathetic to Israel, has alienated enough of those who might previously have voted for him, at least as a vote against Trump, to preclude that happening now.

I just want to say 'good luck' to Americans. I really hope you don't have to suffer that orange idiot again.

I think you're 100% correct, if the election was held this week.

But, there's still a year to go and people have short memories.

So...you're saying that the one percent of the US population who are actively anti Zionist. who woulda voted for Biden...will...not vote FOR Trump...but just abstain from voting for either...will be enough to tip the election to Trump?

I don’t really follow US politics that much. I’ve always thought Trump was a complete idiot. Hasn’t all the stuff with taxes and taking official secrets back to Mara Lago etc done him irreparable damage? I’d be very worried if someone like that was going to be my country’s leader…again.

I guess it's just made people indignant that Trump's enemies are hounding him with frivolous charges while they shield the real criminals i.e. the Biden's from justice.
