I originally titled it "Against Russia's Oppression of Elves" because it seemed like a joke, but after searching for information about it, I realized it was a very serious matter.
Andrei Khudoleev said that the last census in 2021 "a little more than 12 thousand people identified themselves as elves." He added that this was a concern given that, under the country's constitution, nationality is determined by what a person term themselves.

They're countering entirely different propaganda, but this is a Bit like people in Canada and the USA identifying their religion as "Jedi," on official census forms. Nationality vs. religion, countering government misinformation vs. being over various forms of religious indoctrination - but the two movements have some parallels and I kinda like it.
