That's the problem these days. It's all about money instead of art. Ideas don't come naturally anymore. It's all forced out to make a buck.

The studio execs are so risk-averse that they stick to the same-old same-o for fear of otherwise losing money.

Sadly, there are few alternatives.  Anime studios have fallen into similar traps, when they haven't stooped to fanservice (or blatant pronz) to sell their products.

I'm re-reading "Watchmen" instead.
