My birds don't speak English, but they have their own language; at least they have multi purpose words.

WeeOugh! is a greeting and the response is usually Wheet!

Quiel! is usually a cry of alarm.

Whree! is usually what they say when they want out of their cage when I or my family comes home.

If Pavi wants to get my attention she says Tserwi! which is also what Caso calls Patty. It either means "friend" or "love".

Whurp!? is usually meaning "what are you doing and why?"

These are just some of the words I notice they use, but they also have a few which writing would do no justice, usually used in their songs which they sing to each other as well as songs for when the sun first comes out. (such as in the morning or after a bad storm is over.)

So does anyone else think these birds have their own language?

Anyhow, it's clear that, like many animals,
birds do communicate with one another. I
remember seeing some studies which suggested
that some parrots have about the equivalent language
ability as a chimp - putting them around where a 5
year old is. BUT, remember that the tests are not
the natural environment for the given animals, so
their capabilities may be stronger in some areas
which are not being tested.

Yes I think they may have some sort of simple language. I saw somewhere that chimps use different sounds to express different things, such as: "Lookie! Food!" ,"Look out!" or "Look at me!" (in the mating season ) . I'm sure all animals communicate with each other in a way or another.
