I thought Heathens were followers of Germanic paganism.

I don't believe anyone can be the son (or daughter) of any gods, given that gods don't exist.

Probably originally, I don't know that that's how the term is used these days though.

I believe that's still the main group who self-identify as Heathens.

I am actually very proud to be Heathen. I live according to my own rules and not the ones made by people who think there's a 50 foot tall man with a long white beard sitting on a cloud somewhere watching out every move.

^Then announced that he would break up with me and throw me into hell: a place that is far from God.That's all.

I'm not a heretic.

Well, I mean that'd certainly be awful if it's real. There's a big "if" there. I don't have any reason to believe in it to begin with.

Besides... There are tons and tons of religions in our world. What makes one so certain that the God of the Bible is the true one and thus that the dichotomy is between only the Christian God's Hell or nothing? I would be inclined toward that belief, but only because I was born and raised in the US and in Christianity. That's not rational at all. If I had been born into another part of the world, I would instead be inclined toward another religion's dichotomy.

All of the religions of the world have their true believers and for the same reasons as other religions (they all have "personal experiences" and the like). Thus, it's not a dichotomy to me. Pascal's Wager is more like Pascal's Roulette.

Fortunately, none of them have sufficient evidence for their claims. Christianity is no different. It doesn't matter that I was raised in it. I am not impressed with the "evidence" put forth for it. I'd go so far as to even say that I think that the chances of Christianity being true is darn well near 0% if not flat out 0%. It makes no sense in of itself, much less up against the world and the universe in front of us. Thus, I'm really not worried about Christianity's Hell even though I was raised in Christianity.

If the God of Christianity does somehow against all odds, against all reason exist, he's got a lot of explainin' to do and if he is really so cruel to create something so unfathomably cruel as eternal hellfire, and on top of that condemn someone like me there just for nonbelief (or having dated other women, too), well that's a big condemnation of him, isn't it? (That's one thing that really also keeps me from being able to believe, it's just so utterly immoral. The "morality" of the Christian God is utter barbarity... It's not the words of a God, it's the word of ancient, barbaric men).

Besides, I can't make myself believe in a God I see no reason to, much less worship him. This all just feels like that 1984 quote about being told to ignore the evidence your eyes can see in front of you. I will not.

About as scared as I am of being eaten by a T-rex.

At least T-rexes were real.

Technically, I am.

Mainly because I don't view Jesus special.
Not anymore special than someone who happened to find, record and spread particular foundations of a whatever work or practice or trend.

Except, well, it's possible that no one would believe that I technically am.
Because I have a very different interpretion of what Son of God meant. Or even what a God even is.

It's nothing to do with whatever belief, and more to do with interpretations that may misconstrued as "right".

If one ever asks if I believe in God; I will say Yes and No and Both.
But I will say "sure" not from faith and from heart but from conscious knowing.

They have a very different idea of what God is and interpretations of, yet they may mistook my interpretation very confusing.

It can align with them or not.
Depending how vague or concise I feel like using words at that moment.

Only that, well, technically I am what many would call a heathen.

Also, to make it a bit more confusing, technically, I was born and registered/recognized as a Catholic.
