this makes me wanna get good and drunk permanently. why can't we 'muuuricans make the powers that be straighten up and fly right? why are so many of us part of the problem and not part of the solution?

It should not be surprising that since we are all born helpless, ignorant, and selfish that while most people navigate through life withing the limits of social convention, that many would use their free will to get whatever they can for themselves.

Buddhists see the problem of humanity is that of desire. However, rather than suppressing desire, the Christian approach (that sadly most Christians are unaware of) is one of transcending the selfishness of our natural state to the selfless love of Christ likeness.

Government is evil in the same way that people are evil. Creatures given free will would be expected to seek to serve themselves. Consider Skynet.

And yet our "evil" government has managed to keep most of its population fat, entertained, and relatively safe from hostile nations for the past century.

But by all means let us flush that all down the toilet and let worse countries take over just because we get one really bad president.

It is supposably written as a oxymoronic situation in the Constitution that we live under a Corporation . In the first paragraph . Read it closely . But supposably there is a bill of Rights . . And apparently the Founding Fathers might have got the plot twisted by some very ingenious businessmen . And it was almost looking good until , the Largest corporations usurped the Powers of the goverment by influence and massive financial investment . We have individuals now, worth much more than the entire value of some smaller countries now .Whats wrong with that picture . It IS WHY this country had anti-Trust laws ,I believe . Now those laws are defunct . And criminals are currently running a Country . That has huge resources , Intelligence companies, Military Industrial companies , Now , the US military is opening the military here to private investments ! Where did our tax money to keep a fighting force , go to ? The Arc de Trump ?

I'm sorry but I just don't agree with the propaganda being spread everywhere online these days that America is the most evil country that ever existed. Anyone who truly believes that about the US needs to spend less time on the internet.

NOT "most evil country that ever existed," but much more evil than it should be. there is a difference.

I don't believe we're evil at all. That's far too simplistic a label to give to any nation. Our government has no doubt done questionable things long before Trump became president, but it was all for the sake of keeping our own nation stable. They did a pretty decent job of dirtying their hands to protect our people and further American interests until that washed-up narcissistic reality star go into into power.

We're not the only nation in the world with a government that did horrific things to further their own interests. But we are the only one that the rest of the world loves to hate for doing so, as if any other nation in the world was ever any more moral and honorable than we are?

murdering millions of natives isn't evil? poisoning our own citizens isn't evil? if not, then what IS evil?

EVERY SINGLE NATION in the world is guilty of enslaving, oppressing, and murdering people throughout history! What makes you or anyone else on here think that's just a uniquely American form of evil?

you're still missing the key point which is to say we as a nation should not have done those things! there was NO legitimately moral reason for the CIA to have slipped LSD into people's drinks or sprayed poison on its own citizens. I am speaking to a brick wall here. end of discussion. go ahead and yammer some more, I don't really care to be an audience to it.

No, not always for the sake of keeping our own nation stable. Sometimes for the sake of specific private American moneyed interests. Read up on United Fruit Company and the "banana wars," for example.


Indeed we aren't. And there are other countries with governments that have done MORE horrific things, at least within the past century or so.

But, because the U.S.A. is the world's most powerful country, it therefore poses the greatest potential danger to other countries, which is why the rest of the world worries so much about what our government is up to.
