So I keep kind of fixating on a few years ago when I saw four glowing orbs(the only way I can describe them) floating in the sky. My dad and another person also saw these things so no I wasn't high or tripping or anything like that. But yeah they flew over and stopped and then they did a pattern of lighting up...like there were four and they would go dark and light up in a pattern. When I first saw these things I thought they were the kind of fire-works that look kind of like comets, but then instead of falling all the way down and disaapearing like the fire-works they just stopped falling and started dancing in the sky and they did that a bit before they stopped above me and my dad and started doing the light flashing pattern.

And I have looked on the internet and can't find any simular experiences from people, has anyone else seen anything like that here? I mean I have no specific ideas on what they were but it seemed so weird as I have never seen anything like that in my life before. But yeah glowing sky orbs with comet looking tails except when they stopped moving the tails disappeared. I just don't know what they were, but they did not seem sinister at all if anything they gave off a rather happy vibe. But have just been trying to find out if anyone else has seen anything like that before.

Of course maybe no one will believe this and just dismiss it as some sort of paranoid ravings, but it is something I actually saw so there is that.

No I have not seen anything like that and I'm jealous as hell. I have heard of people seeing glowing orbs before though. There's "foo fighters" and "willow-the-wisps".

Was it during a thunderstorm? It could have been ball lightnings.

In modern days, with the popularity of drones that can be coordinated to fly in formation, it can be very difficult to determine if what one is seeing is something unusual or a well coordinated drone fleet, unless one is familiar with the limitations of drone aviation.

19 years ago, however, this was not a factor. Does what you saw sound anything like what was reported in this NUFORC report from a sighting in 1998?

NUFORC sighting report wrote:

I do not remeber the exact date or time and some of the finer details of this event however it took place in early January, I believe in 1998. A more accurate report was filed with the Ventura/Santa Barbara MUFON chapter.

I was sitting in the car parking lot of Albertsons in Camarillo. It was the early evening and the sun had just set. The sky was sufficiently dark to see stars and it was clear exept for maybe a few cirrus clouds. I was facing NW and had just reached forward to change the radio station when out of the corner of my eye, to the right, I saw what I had first thought to be firework embers falling down from the sky. There were about 12 to 20 whight lights, about the magnitude of polaris, falling down in a ring formation. Suddenly these "firework" embers did something rather unusual. They stopped dead in the sky. This ring was suspended at what I estimate to be an altitude of maybe 1500 feet though I am not good at estimating altitude and they maye have been much higher.

After about 1.5 second pause, these lights suddenly started swarming around eachother erradically. If I recall correctly some were "glittering". This swarm moved almost right overhead me and some of the lights left the swarm and flew around the sky while others appeared to join the swarm from higher altitudes.

Two of the lights in this swarm started to become brighter and most of the lights in the swarm merged with these two brighter lights while the remaining ones flew out of the swarm and faded from few. These two bright lights now moved closer to eachother and then started blinking on and off in sequence. One would blink on while the other would blink off. At this point in the event, the object(s) would easly pass for a cessna. The blinking lights slowly began to move NW, parallel with the hill that runs behind Camarillo where I eventually lost sight of them behind the houses on the horizon.

I ran inside the market to tell my mom what I had just saw. A few minutes later on the way home we saw three or four fighter jets, in formation, flying from the direction the lights disappeared from. I imagine the jets were dispatched from Vandeberg AFB.

It seems at this point there's a lot that we do understand about weather and energy in the planets atmosphere and yet there are plenty of fascinating anomalies people record that bugger the imagination. I do agree with other posters here that with the increased number of drone users you could have seen some hobbiest crafts unless you're pretty confident these were a thousand or more feet up or that the luminescence wouldn't make sense for any sort of aircraft or drone.

UFO simply means unidentified objects, and in a way if you can't figure out what you saw then you did see four UFO's. That doesn't rule out natural causes, I'd actually say natural causes are the most likely thing here just that I also say that somewhat loosely in that I'd consider the possibility of conscious electromagnetic phenomena or something of a blurrier category still before I'd start thinking of little green men and women from another solar system on a ship.

Nope, it was a quite mellow evening with just a few clouds in the sky.

I've thought about if they could have possibly been drones, but the trouble is there was nothing mechanical about them at all and they didn't make any noise. Also when I first observed them they looked to just be falling like those fireworks that leave the long trails behind...up until they stopped falling and just started floating around and I don't think drones can do that.

Certainly qualifies as UFOs, because they're unidentified flying objects...but it could certainly be a natural phenomena of some kind in which case I would kind of like to know what causes it. I also find it possible that the things were from space...which still doesn't rule out natural phenomena, I mean after all we do get meteor showers.

It sounds like the Marfa Lights, which I saw as a kid. Sadly, it's been explained. As the ground cools in the evening, it compresses slightly. This compression causes the piezoelectric effect in buried crystals, and that type of electrical discharge may cause lights to appear.

Sorry. I really wanted it to be metaphysical.

Reports were even published in popular media, interestingly enough named Popular Mechanics magazine, in 2009.

Quote:
Stephenville, Texas became the center of UFO-sighting in the United States when, on January 8, 2008, red orbs were spotted in the sky by a number of observers. The next day, the Stephenville Empire-Tribune published one account and, soon after, the town had made national news. "Texas Town Abuzz Over Dozens of UFO Sightings," wrote Foxnews.com. "Are UFOs Invading Texas?" asked Texas Monthly.

Some orange orbs are probably lights on terrestrial air craft.

More mundane than that. The Marfa lights are due to a weather phenomena called an inversion layer, causing the lights from cars on a highway in the distance to reflect off the layer and appear as orbs in the sky from the ground.

Probably not. Orange light is not used on aircraft, red, white, green, only. For example, https://www.whelen.com/pb/Aviation/Syst ... ystems.pdf
