I have a belief that once Islam, or at least extremist Islam, ceases to exist, the government can go back to focusing on enrich our lives and the arts like the '90s, and the United States will no longer be hated by the snobbish Europeans and the barbaric Arabs.

Well first off... ideas are hard to snuff out. The pagan religion was mostly destroyed, yet now offshoots of it are fairly common, such as wiccan. (Pretty sure I'm thinking of the right words here, could be wrong...) Second off, if the threat of terrorism was gone, there wouldn't be a terrible difference I think. Before 9/11, the world wasn't perfect. As much as I'd like to think its any one thing that stops the world from being better, it just isn't. And besides, whats stopping them from working on enriching our lives now? Sure, theres the war going on, but they don't spend every waking moment thinking about it.

And third off... this probably belongs in the Politics, Philosophy, and Religion forum.

They'd have to change a huge deal more than pull the troops out and stop waging illegal war on other countries for my view of the US to improve...

Even when the war has ended, America will remain on the path to fascist theocracy. It's an ideal that lead to a war, not the other way around.

Paganism covers a broad range of belief systems that can hardly be grouped as "the pagan religion". In general, you can assume it to cover everything that's not Abrahamic in origin. You might mean Celtic, Roman, Greek, Norse or other pagan mythologies. In any case, they were never really destroyed, just mostly displaced by Christianity. Unbroken traditions of all of those listed still remain, though usually different forms. Wicca is totally new and not really a continuation of anything.

first of all. the majority of terrorist acts committed in the united states are carried out by christian extremist groups (like abortion clinic bombings, etc).

There are not very many extremist muslims. The media blows it out of proportion. Second of all, Arabs are by no means barbaric...

The abortion clinic bombers, although I do not endorse them, killed very few and saved many more.

If anyone looks at the past, present, or future, and isn't brainwashed it's obvious Christianity is superior to Islam. Muslims are poor, violent and uneducated. Christians are rich, peaceful and for the most part educated. Christian art is far superior to Islamic art in my opinion. How many books by Muslim authors have you read? Without Christianity, there is no freedom or democracy.

Of course, ignorant pigs will be ignorant pigs.

Read some history before you go spouting off nonsense like this. The Muslim cultures were wealthier than "Christendom" until mercantilism brought large piles of gold and silver to Europe form the Americas.

Please don't tell me to read about history. I've read volumes upon volumes (and I mean a whole library) about ancient and medieval history. The Arabs never defeated Christendom.

ANd nor were they ever anything close to rich. You're thinking of the Indians and the Persians (who were ancient Arabs that were Zoroastrianists.

Come on, surely you don't think that Islamofascism is purely to blame for the anti-americanist sentiment displayed around the world?

But still, I don't think it was justified to ban this guy. He was criticising what is mostly a choice. You choose religious beliefs.
