Organized religion is idiotic. It just tries to control people. Spirituality and faith have little to do with organized religion. So instead of giving in to the organized structure, just compile your own beliefs and call it your own religion. Even people who regularly go to church or synagogue don't totally believe everything the bible and torah say nor do they believe everything their preacher or rabbi says. So instead of giving in to the organized structure why don't they just for fun call their beliefs a new denomination of christianity or judaism or whatnot? I have my own religion called Integeria. It is somewhat of a blend of pantheist, ufology, carnalist, pagan, animist, and scientific concepts. At the very least inventing your own religion based on your personal beliefs can be a fun creative project.

Well, the Jedi Religion doesn't try to control people...

If I could invent a religion it would be called "Poopology" and it would consist of worshipping Rocks. These Rocks would have magical properties and would be highly medicinal. They would have all kinds of different weights and textures; some could even write with these Rocks(as long as they're fresh ). You could drill holes within the Rocks and wear them as bracelets, you could also fasten them as earrings-- the pinnicle of fashion, and they'd even permeate a robust fragrance you could share with friends and family. Ground them up and mix with milk or water for a magic elixir sure to satisfy any hunger pang or ailment that persists.

What makes my Rocks Holy? I DO. Let me go personally to the lavatory and get you some of my freshest!! !

I do believe in the Christian God and all, but my beliefs tend to differ from the norm in a few ways. I see God as being very chaotic. He's able to harness creativity in it's purist form to create, and if he wants he can unleash destruction (the other end of the chaos spectrum) to destroy. Oh it's all theories granted, but it makes sense in my head and that's really all that matters to me. I believe God wants us to do our best, but I also believe he wants us to be tolerant of all others. It's not really up to us to judge another person. No-one's infallible.

I also believe we're in complete control of our own actions. If we do something, it's our own choice and we should face the consequences both positive and negative. Sort of like karma. If you're nice to a lot of people, chances are they'll be nice back. If you're an a**hole, some people will probably want you hurt if not dead.

And I also believe that the most intelligent people out there are the ones that know that they know nothing. It's possible to disprove enough things to show that something's likely, but it's not possible to actually prove anything with absolute certainty. As this is the case I say go with what you think is right, regardless of what someone else believes. But keep an open mind. An evolving view can be of benefit.

If I had to pick a name? Hmmm... Chaotic Christianity?

My dissent started in my church everytime they showed the neocon 9/11 footage and the preacher got a plaque from George W. a couple of years later. I wonder why....

Also, in Acts the new church reinforces the no meat rule of the old testament. That applies to .3% of evangelicals today.

People need a religion to reinforce purpose. I heard at the end of the Mormon special on PBS that when death takes the centerfold of livelihood, then religion seeks to answer that.

Just like Catholicism, except everyone at Mass is the preacher!
The head preacher will be called The Moderator.

Instead of dramatic over-the-top music,
it will be replaced with rock music or jazz music.

There might be a God or there might not be - but we can't be bothered to find out.

There are weekly masses but nobody, not even the priest, bothers to turn up.

We have to convert as many people as possible, if they won't convert - you probably have to blow them up or something - except you don't really because you can't be bothered talking to people about religion in the first place.

During certain celebrations you're not supposed to eat meat... if someone gives you meat, you eat it but if there's no meat to eat, then you're probably being religious. You don't actually think about it.

Whenever there's a religious post like this, you jump in and push your beliefs except... well, you just can't be bo... oh .whatever....

fact vs fiction eh.. then theres the optomitrists saying how bad it is for your eyes which I believe but sun gazers take their "high" every sunrise / and/or sun set.. which i guess the power is golden not as fierce to eyes eh..

they are isolated and concentrating on one thing so can see how this is relaxing / ala meditation tai chi.. etc..

lol... If I create my own I guess I would like others to join.. But I guess I would make my religion adaptable..

Hmmm... Should we study the examples or create our own religion based on real life experiences... what should be holy... does there need to be a super holy being.. to "worship"
perhaps worshipping plants our food co2 etc hmmm or the sun or hmm... sounds good

YEA interesting view.. I believe that the 'converting' of people is sort of unethical and all the wars because which "club" you belong to is wrong eh... "wrong" lol a moral religion eh what would that be..

Funny you think we just give in/conform or otherwise don't think for ourselves. Also interesting to note that you think that on the basis of free thought that one would automatically give up their previous beliefs. Bizarre.

What I find funny is that Liberal Christians are actually doing that. By selectively picking and choosing what they want to believe in from the bible, they are actually using their own criteria of what is good religion and what isn't--they may as well just be secularists anyways.

I am not a Christian, but I am a very liberal, perhaps even radical, member of another religion.
