A friend of mine here, explained my sentiments better than I could through a PM, and I have recieved his permission to use his post:

It's impossible to force people to become educated. We cannot force people to open their eyes. Even if we could... If we did, would we be any better than the big boys? I can't agree more... I have come so close to just giving up on public education (not talking about schools Razz). It seems every time I try to bring something important to a conversation, everyone gets bored out of their minds or ignores me, on purpose. Like they have a mental block when it comes to thinking that something about their society could be f**** up or going in the wrong direction. People are so damned comfortable so long as they have their house, car, TV, football, beer, video games, etc, that they are so willing to just ignore everything around them. They think we live in a free society, nay, the BEST country in the world... that they almost fear getting involved in politics (even so far as to have an opinion), as if they would screw something up or be proven wrong, because they are stupid... like politics should be left to the politicians because they do it for a profession. Funny thing is the politicians are no more educated than the people on matters of politics. The only difference is politicians are paid by both tax dollars and corporations to push bills through. The most insane part about this whole predicament though.... the fact that what I just said is public knowledge. Everyone knows politicians are corrupt, that corporations really control what laws are passed...but no one cares. Corporations give them fast food, and technology. Corporations build their cars and heat their buildings. Corporations are a necessary evil... no... morally good, in the eyes of the populus. Sacrifices must be made for our luxury, and people know this.

I'm ranting on a few different things here... but my real point is the fact that people are actually smarter than we give them credit. They're just so lazy and scared of the "powers that be" (probably due to brainwashing and social conditioning) that they willingly and knowingly ignore the sh** that goes on, and I've almost given up on this whole education thing. Crazy thing is, half of me wants to escape from this whole situation, but there is no escape. There is no place I can go where I don't feel or see the big boys' influence and control. And even if I could, I don't think I could live with myself knowing that I, a person with an open free mind, am not helping others to open and free their own minds. Even if I open 2 minds in my life, if those 2 open 2 more, and so on... The Awakening against the powers that be will spiral out of control. No brainwashing (aside from CIA\Military style) is irreversable.
