I'm tired of the PC commies over-blowing the race/gender card, acting like anytime someone criticizes or disagrees with a minority that they MUST be racist/sexist. Like white males can never under any circumstances be right over an ethnic/female person. It's dumb, and it's just reverse bigotry. That's my stance on it. "Oh you'd better not talk bad about the DC Sniper, because he was a black man so you can't disagree with what he did unless your a racist".
MLK Jr was a great man, a great HUMAN BEING, who happened to be black, and did many great things for his people, but he fought for equality, not for skin color to become a pass over the laws by hanging onto the past, not to condemn innocent white men for the actions of other white men, he preached equality. Meaning you weren't treated better for being white, you weren't treated better for being black, you weren't treated better for being any other color. Color shouldn't be a factor. Gender should only be a factor in dating matters.

I tried to set this up as a poll but it didn't work out that way for some reason.

There should be one for the sake of equality. I feel like we are being ignored for not being in a minority. Or its like they try and change the things we like incase minorities could possibly take offence to it and it never works the other way around.

Is anyone else amused that Snake321 is the one who started this topic, and Richardbenson was the first one to respond?

What exactly do you think the 11 other months of the year are about?

300 years of black history shoved into one month while ignored the rest of the year, and people who complain just to complain about that one month.

that doesnt answer my question though, why is the 11 months out of the year all about wh***y?

and holding grudges is probably a smart thing to do. if i remember correctly, blacks (please dont call me racist) scream louder than anyone about racism, any chance they get. and yet if my mind serves me correctley white people have also been slaves, by muslims in the past.

now i dont see any white people complaining about it do you?

Because they are, at least in America.

Where is this whole 'grudges' thing coming from? Your personal experiences do not represent the entire black population. And as far as screaming the loudest, it probably has something to do with this:

http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/hc2006/victims.html
Racial bias
Among the single-bias hate crime incidents in 2006, there were 5,020 victims of racially motivated hate crime.

66.4 percent were victims of an offender’s anti-black bias.
21.0 percent were victims of an anti-white bias.
4.8 percent were victims of an anti-Asian/Pacific Islander bias.
1.5 percent were victims of an anti-American Indian/Alaskan Native bias.
6.4 percent were victims of a bias against a group of individuals in which more than one race was represented (anti-multiple races, group).
(Based on Table 1.)

I'm going to sleep. If you still need clarification I'll probably be on tomorrow.

so let me get this correct. out of millions of people there was 5,020 victims of a hate crime racially motivated?

that seems a little low. but i guess it doesnt matter because as long as there is 1 racially motivated hate crime everyones a big racisit and must pay for all of eternity

We have nothing like that here, but then again we hardly have anyone not from British/European ancestry.

Not black appreciation, but black history.

When I was in High School, someone I knew was getting people to sign a petition making it "American History Month" or just "History Month." (even a couple blacks signed it)

Guess what happened?

That's right, a black guy got pissed off and tore it to pieces.

I'm not condoning tearing somebody else's stuff to pieces, but the original petition was patently absurd. "White" (usually male) American history is discussed about all the time. I never understood why people get uppity about having a single month (the shortest in the year, even) devoted to black history. If our educational system were truly egalitarian, it wouldn't be necessary.
