The good variant of world peace is achievable if we follow Izaak's suggestion to a good extent. I do assume that Izaak's suggestion ultimately ends up being trade. Trade promotes peace by tying human self-interest to the interests of others.
The bad variant of world peace would be the rise of a world government I would think, as such an organization would exist to assume power into itself and without necessarily seeking totalitarianism would likely find it.
The idea of continual war is not hard to imagine, but the issue is that in order for that view to hold there would also have to be continual poverty.

Human nature does not allow it we are too selfish.
Selfishness should actually be the greatest promoter of peace, what selfish person martyrs themself?

For as long as there is power and money to be had in this world people will fight to get it.
The issue isn't money and power so much as money and power easily attained through war. The level of wealth and power in the world has been increasing for a long time, but the number of major wars has been declining amongst those with the most wealth and power. I would say that this is because stored capital makes war less beneficial in comparison to trade.
All it take is a conflict of interests and war can break out. Can we limit conflict? yeah to a point but we can't completely get rid of it. The idea of World Peace is nothing but wishful thinking in my opinion.
