Okay, I guess there is a double standard here where it is okay to bash white people and black people but apparently not yellow people because that thread was locked. But what about Red People? Anyways, here goes.

Scalping White People
Alcohol
Medicine to treat Smallpox
Government handouts



(And if this thread does get locked, I understand but what I don't understand is why the white and black people threads are allowed to continue. Talk about a double standard...)

The Black People thread was also locked. Every once in a while, the mods must remind us that WP does not support free speech and open discussion.

Yes, I can understand... but why is it okay to bash whites? This is something that I don't agree with. It seems to be implied that whites are oppressors and it is okay to bash them and they deserve it because of stuff that happened hundreds of years ago. And political correctness nannies look the other way when other races are racist. We tolerate black comedians insulting white people on stage, but Michael Richards got in hot water when he did the opposite. It isn't fair and it isn't right. Allowing the white bashing thread to remain open is only perpetuating this.

Ya, it's probably time to shut it down.

The way I see it, open interracial crosstalk is the only way to achieve mutual understanding -- so why would WP mods end such a discussion, as was proceeding in my Black People thread? People, to my surprise, took that thread in stride, and we were making progress in open honesty about racial misperceptions.

The mods' (mod's) logic seems to be:
IF
Flammable things can be dangerous.
THEN
Flammable things are useless, and should never be touched or examined in any way.

As if "controversial" means: "Run away! Fly, fly like the wind!"

And I have the feeling this thread is also going to see the same fate.

I don't think it has to do with censoring free speech, but some of these things are sensitive issues and can get downright nasty. They ALL look racist to me, even the "What do white people like" thread.

I know they all should be closed. I complained when then white bashing thread came up but people just brushed me off and kept going on, and then I seen a black bashing thread spring up so I thought I could make a point by creating a yellow bashing thread too. But unfortunately, the point doesn't seem to have sunk in because the yellow and black bashing threads were closed but the white bashing was allowed to continue!

And that's why I set up this Red people bashing thread. Hopefully this will finally get the mods to realize the double standard and finally close that white bashing thread too. Otherwise, we might have to create an Eskimo or Australian Aborigene bashing thread.

It also didn't help that the White People thread was started in the Politics, Philosophy, and Religion section -- as if it contains somewhat deep truths about white people. Therefore, it was further distanced from seeming humorous, instead edging toward serious bashing. If you say an insult with a smile, it's still an insult.

Isn't there enough stereotyping going on as it is? I also think the white thread should be locked. It's racism, just the same.

I'm white and I don't feel particularly bashed. The problem of my being bashed really does not come up very much. Maybe some white people who feel bashed really are getting bashed a lot, but not BECAUSE they're white, but because they're hateful and racist.
