It is possible to have whatever reality you want.

It's your mind, you can think what you want!!

There is only one external reality, you can have your personal perspectives on it, but there is only one reality. If your running on a train track, and you hear a train coming. You've got 2 choices. you can either:
1. Pretend you don't hear the train because "in your reality this train isn't there" and possibly because you think it's "negative" to ever think you'd be hit by a train, and you end up getting flattened.
2. Or, you could get off the track and live to run another day.

Either way, your dealing with 1 ultimate reality. The train is there rather you wanna believe it is or not, it's there, it's sounding it's airhorn. The rumbling down the tracks. Reality is not chosen, it's given. It doesn't ever take sides in human affairs either. Be it between 2 people or two groups of people. There's always 3 sides to a story. Your story, the their story, and the truth. You may have different takes on reality, but your all dealing with one reality.
I'm not much for all this modernism/post modernism/ existentialism/deconstructionism new age insanity... It's just psychotically over-philosophical junk "how do I know my hand is really in front of my face durh!").

Whether or not there is an external reality, all that I have to know it or myself by are my imperfect senses, fallible perception, and poor powers of reasoning. For me to assume solipsism would be folly, for I cannot know this. For me to assume that my senses, perception, and reasoning are perfect things would also be folly, for they have repeatedly proven themselves wanting. I can only muddle through as well as I can.

we exist in a reality where anything is possible but not nearly as many things are probable. we need to fix the separation between the two in some areas.

Your denying what you can tell, if your purposely not seeing things just to say you don't trust your vision, not hearing things just to say you don't trust your hearing. How could you know anything? It's delusional. For all practical purposes, your 5 sinces are there to help you determine your reality.
I mean like, if there is some god-like realm that is far above our comprehension where our reality is wrong, then it doesn't effect us here as far as we can tell. Even if our reality is a lower reality, it's still OUR reality. It's what WE have to deal with. All of us. It's psychotic and stupid even to think otherwise.
2+2=4, you might argue who decides what is 2 and 4, but man only made the digits, not the values. No matter what name you place on the number values, you'll still get the same answer..... [Uno+Dos=Tres]=[1+2=3] Unless of coarse you wanna pretend that is also an illusion

I mean you can have different takes on reality, but there's only one reality. We've just got different perspectives of it. If you wanna go live in lala land though and live in imagination land, that's your deal. It's not sane and it's not healthy.

this is a thread for people to express their versions of reality. You can have your opinion, but do not tell the people that don't agree with you that they are psychotic. The views you have are as true as anybody elses.

The views you have are as true as anybody else?

well, really? lets examine that statement shall we? What does "true" mean? dictionary.com spouts: "conforming to reality"

so who's reality is each truth coming from? Or are you merely trying to obliterate the meaning of "true" and in the process trying to obliterate reality?

-----
So what you are saying in essence is either:
* The law of identity is invalid... in which case all these different 'versions' of reality are also invalid.

AND/OR

*That reality doesn't exist itself and there exists just some flux which can be whatever one wishes it to be (different versions). In which case there is no true for you to talk about an attribute to each 'different' reality.

AND/OR

*That there ARE different realities, in which case this thread is inherently meaningless because all this exists in your reality and I am reading a completely different thread because that is what exists in my reality.

-----
So while your goal is the obliteration of reality... I hope my post is enough to save at least some people from believing in yours.

btw... nice post snake... I concur.

Sometimes I wonder if this is reality. :(
