The swastika is a symbol used in cultures outside Europe long before the Nazis appropriated it as a symbol for their ideology. If you read Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories", you'll see a picture of a Buddha with a swastika on the chest, which Kipling describes as a powerful symbol of something like peace and prosperity (I don't remember the details because it's a long time since I read the book, and it's possible that more recent editions had the image changed because of the meaning it acquired since Kipling wrote the book). If you want to know what the symbol means in Tibetan Buddhism, you'll have to check.

The American Confederate Flag has come to mean more than the Confederate South during USA's civil war. Nowadays it's used by Neo-Nazis, skinheads, hate groups. Like the swastika, this flag evokes a lot of strong feelings in a wide variety of people. Do China & Tibet face the same kind of civil war conflict? Are they equally-matched for this to take place? You should not throw around hate-symbols like that. No telling who might react and how.

Tibet will indeed drop dead unless the rest of the world does something.

It's best not to jump to conclusions when seeing familiar symbolism in different countries since every culture has different interpretations. Something as simple as the color red can have many different meanings depending on which country you see it in.

For all you know, the American symbol for Spongebob might be a symbol of hatred in an eastern European country.

The Confederate Flag and Spongebob are indigenous to the West, and, if used by someone in a different culture as symbols foreign to them, they can assign whatever meaning they like to them. Won't make it accurate, though.

Im aware of that slowmutant. But the principles are pretty much the same: they want "freedom" to go back to their old, oppressive way of life which does NOT preclude violating basic human rights.

the swastika originates from early harrapan era pre-Hinduism, Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism. the nazi's decided to adopt it for some unknown and rather unintelligible reason.

And now it's absolutely forbidden to show/use/draw them in Germany.

Go figure: 7-year-old Sora didn't know and drew swastikas all over her school things because they looked pretty.
