I was just reading up on Hercules:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heracles

It strikes me that there are a number of similarities between Hercules and Jesus:

Hercules had a God (Zeus) for a father, and a mortal for a mother. Jesus was the same.

Zeus apotheosizes Hercules when he dies, and brings him up to Olympus. The same thing happens to Jesus.

Jesus's sexuality has been questioned--whether he was married, whether he was gay, whether he was asexual. Hercules was extremely bisexual.

Both performed miracles.

Both were worshipped (in some form) after their deaths.

Read "The Pagan Christ". Christians don't like to admit it--C. S. Lewis was an exception--but the theme of a hero who was born of a virgin, performed miracles, died (or was killed) and then rose/ascended is a very very common one in world mythology. In fact, that was one of the things that convinced Lewis that Christianity must be true: "Rum thing," he is supposed to have commented before his conversion, "it almost sounds like it happened once." I also refer you to "The Jesus Puzzle."

Are you trying to disprove religon again?

We all know how that ends. We've been down that road so many times before.

There are many elements of sun worship in Christianity. Jesus in Islam does not have these pagan characteristics. In fact, Jesus in Christianity has many features of many solar deities and non-solar deities, from Horus to Krishna, the list goes on and on.

This is an area that I am intensely interested in. For the last three years it has been my main area of interest. I started out thinking that maybe Jesus was an amalgamation of various religious beliefs, or that he was just one of many separately evolving stories that just happened to win out over all the rest.

I think it's interesting though that in the Bible Jesus was prophesied of long before he came. Apparently as early as Genesis chapter 3. There are other hints in the Genesis and the rest of the Bible that lead many to conclude that Jesus was known about long before the Jews came along.

So if we take a minute to look at the Bible as factual, then the prophecy of Jesus would logically end up having many different variations by the time drawings and writings came along. Thus I've come to the conclusion that similarities between Krishna, Buddha, Zeus, and other God's are interesting, but can't lead me to discount the Bible. Of course I realize that Genesis could've been inspired by false beliefs so it can't be used to prove the Bible.

I also find it interesting that the first chapters of Genesis, which are about Creation and Adam & Eve, could've only been told orally by those who came off the Ark, and would've been passed on orally until people started making copies of the story. A lot of time for some far out ideas to crop up. Much like how the elements of sun worship in Christianity is pretty far out and entirely introduced into Christianity since after the time of Jesus. There are hundreds of different Christian denominations, but only a few denominations actually keep what appears to be the Biblical Sabbath.

I just got done watching Zeitgeist. The Jets, Nuclear Weapons, and machine guns at the beginning made me think about just how far we have come in an amazingly short amount of time. I have no doubt that our worlds wealth and health has been squandered so a relatively few amount of people can live at the top. It reminded me of somewhere in the bible that Jesus said if he didn't come back again then everyone would perish. Or how there would be a great increase in knowledge near the time of the end (or was it age? :? )

This might be a little out there from what you usually hear, but the best fit for the second beast in Revelation is America. That the second beast rose out of the wilderness. We did kind've rise up out of a relatively unpopulated and distant place. That the second beast gives power to the first beast, whose description appears to match the Pope. America does have a quickly growing population of Catholics, and there political power is growing. The Pope seems to get more and more visits from US presidents. The second beast has power to make fire fall from the skies. That reminds me of the World War II invention of the proximity fuse, which can make bombs explode before they hit the ground. Which they also used on the Fat boy, and Little man fission bombs that were dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan.

That we have been lied to by all religious people is true. I don't know of a single person I've met who doesn't lie in one way or another. Whether passively or aggressively we all do it.

George Carlin always cracks me up. But his jokes are based on false representations of the Bible. There is no eternal hell in the Bible, and Jesus never mentions there being one. This has been used by well meaning people, and not so well meaning people to keep people coming to church who don't love God. And tithing doesn't mean God needs our money. Its example is in the old testament to support priests. Again it is indeed abused by people who aren't obedient to the Bible themselves.

It seems to me that misunderstandings of the Bible are what allow people to be controlled and manipulated by it.

The examples of the similarity between astronomy and religious prophecy isn't a surprise to me. If you grew up hearing stories from your parents about The Garden of Eden, and how much better things used to be before sin entered the world, wouldn't you start to associate the world around you with those stories. Especially the ones involving reminders about the one person who would save you. We tend to romanticize the ancient world, but I have no doubts that sin made it just as miserable as it is today. If the bankers and politicians listened to the sixth commandment then we wouldn't of had these flag operations and we would only be involved in wars that were to destroy completely evil people. Of course then wouldn't be an America either :) In the Bible God gave the Jewish people the Tabernacle system, and that was used to remind them about the coming of Jesus. The old testament makes a lot more sense when viewed in that way.

The best evidence I saw against the bible was when the stories of Moses was said to have similarities to an ancient god. It is interesting, and so I'll probably look that one up.

Sun worship  There's a problem with some of there line of reasoning. I agree that Sunday worship was used as a political maneuver to control the masses. But they seemed to overlook that the Jews worship on the Sabbath, which is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. Interesting to me that it is the day that people do the most sinning. Why is that? <Cue Dana Carvey's church lady>
 I doubt Christianity would be as large as it is if the Roman Empire (not the Republic), and the later Papal system did not institute and enforce Sunday worship.

It seems a little hypocritical to believe that humans can execute false flag operations to gain power and take away the freedoms given to us by our forefathers who fought in the Revolutionary war, but yet they don't doubt there belief that the same tricks couldn't be done to Jesus's reputation by the very same people who simply want power :?

"We turn off there chip so they can't buy anything". The Bible says the exact same thing will happen at the end of the age. And guess who does it? The second beast!

They did a nice job at the end tying it all together. But if there is a Satin and he didn't want people to think then wouldn't he also want to take out people like Kennedy, MLK, and John Lennon.

My conclusion right now is that we don't need a revolution, we need a Revelation. :)

How about this OverlyIntense the second wild beast isnt just America, you read that it was a two horned wild beast, one horn does stand for America, the other stands for Britain, you only have to look at the International Bankers who rule the world to see Anglo/America is still a duel world power.

The first wild beast which has the 7 heads and 10 horns represents all the seven kingdoms of Biblical History along with the offshoot horns of each kingdom,

10 And there are seven kings: five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet arrived, but when he does arrive he must remain a short while.

The "one is" was the Roman Empire, the one that "has not yet arrived but remains a short while" was the very short lived British Empire,

yet all these seperate Kingdoms are now united into one beast, one beast that it is the Americans and British that want to get the world to worship, the United Nations, to be used as the vehicle of the New World Order, look up the history of the League of Nations/UN and the countries that set it up, look at Gordon Brown keep on saying "New World Order".
Look at the Lisburn Treaty to make a federal Europe, one of the 10 zones the world is to be divided into,
these 10 zones will then submit to the central zone ot the NWO, this will be the 8th king

11 And the wild beast that was but is not, it is also itself an eighth [king], but springs from the seven, and it goes off into destruction.

12 “And the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings one hour with the wild beast. 13 These have one thought, and so they give their power and authority to the wild beast.

Jesus turned tables at a temple, though he didn't quite kill anyone.

I really think that the egyptian God/Hero Wasir(Osiris) has a Lot more in common with Jesus Christ than Hercules.
