In The Bible, Jesus and The Apostles are portrayed
as being very serious men.

The question is: Did Jesus and The Apostles have a sense of humor?

Because on those long walks & fishing trips,
someone had to make a joke.

Elaborate, fellow Aspies!

The characters as they are written don't seem to have, but then they are just paper figures to fill out the story.

None of them ever existed.

Well, the Psalms tell righteous men to laugh:

Psalms 52:6-7 The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying, (7) "See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!"

Solomon laughs as well:

Proverbs 1:26-29 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, (27) when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. (28 ) Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. (29) Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD,

God laughs too:

Psalms 2:1-4 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? (2) The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, (3) "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us." (4) He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.

Psalms 59:8 But you, O LORD, laugh at them; you hold all the nations in derision.

So, I mean, if Jesus is God, and God's followers historically have laughed, and God himself laughs, then it seems logical that laughter occurs with Christ and the disciples.

^ Interesting sense of humor.

The Bible doesn't seem too interested in describing the personalities of Jesus and the Apostles, instead prefering to focus on what the authors considered the most important parts of the narrative and leaving out tangential material.

Chances are that if they were real they made jokes, just nothing worth putting in the Bible.

"A Nazarene, a Samaritan and a Pharisee walk into the temple", sort of thing.

Or "Why did the camel cross the road? To pass through the eye of a needle!"

It is dangerous to say how anybody with a real sense of humor would react to religion in general.

Well Santa seems to have a sense of humor so it seems natural that Jesus did.

It is very speculative to guess that Jesus had a sense of humor. After all, how could he have said all those things with a straight face?

Well the apostles did eat bread and wine like it was his flesh and blood.

The concept that cannibalism is acceptable is, of course, a very dark kind of humor.

It's not cannibalism, it's theophagy.

Not theophagy but deiophagy. Still, you must admit, frightfully funny. That Christ should make people not considerate but ravenous for human flesh.

Would deivor do? ( How was the meal? It was divine!)

Jesus would often pass gas and blame it on Mark. Everyone would then turn their heads and stare at Mark in humiliation.

Sometimes at dinner Jesus would eat some really nasty greasy meats and wipe his hands on Matthew's robe, and Matthew would just stare back at Jeez like he was ret*d. That would get a rise outta the gents back in the day..

It is more in a symbolic type of way, NOT in a literal way.

Another same question is: Did Mary Magdalene have a sense of humor?
