In my opinion don't ask don't tell should be done away with being gay does not affect your ability to fight in the military. I see don't ask don't tell as a discriminatory policy that hurts the U.S. military instead of keeping good soldiers the military throws them out for their personal desire to mate and/or have sex with the same gender.

Gays being in the military is a win/win situation.
They have big muscles, they are typically perfectionists
--could you imagine some husky 300lbs deadliftin' macho
homo in the marines having his bf/butt-buddy injured?
He'd go on a rampage!! He'd be better than Rambo, and hotter.

Totally.

Got 94 on the EAST and 96 on the practice ASVAB, but Asperger's disqualified me.
I was otherwise accepted to become a linguist for the Air Force.

Have you seen Starship Troopers or Roughnecks?

See, I think that's a shame; AS shouldn't disqualify someone from serving in the military; I assume there would be benefits from having us as soldiers, don't you? You don't have flat feet, do you?

And no, I haven't seen any of those movies, honestly. Sorry.

Depends how well we can tolerate verbal abuse and submitting to authority unquestioningly.

Verbal abuse --no problem. Authority --big problem. Yikes, good point.

BTW, is that the reason they gave you?
Because I think you'd be fine.

Yes, that and ADHD.

Well, now I study as I wait until I'm no longer a "dependent" by my age, so that I'll have financial aid in order to go to college.

I want to study chemistry, but the job market sucks for that field.

Perhaps try Chemical Engineering? (Yeah, it's my field)

You take all the same classes, but plus some engineering courses, and pays twice as much (just make damn sure you take on internships).

I thought that ADHD would be a positive asset in certain parameters, like combat. But what the heck do I know, right?

Please do go to school, and please do something about those nasty chemical corporations because of how they are destroying the natural strains of crops we have today. I was talking to a guy-friend and he was telling me about how standardized farming methods are destroying the environment (and his family's farm.) Now I get really upset when I think about the DOW chemical company.

From the first post you made and this one, I'd conclude that the interviews for the internships are somewhat easier? BTW, how has your job search been going?

That would be a government job. For me to get an elected job, I would have to keep explaining why I was hospitalized for 2 weeks in 2002 and why I was wrongly fired and banned from Wal-Mart in 2007. Engineers have as much sway in how things are run upstairs as the technicians do - it's not their business, just design, form, and test.
