Do you think that religious people think of Jesus Christ as a sort of a superhero like someone might look up to Superman or Batman? Think about it. Don't we have the concept of both of these characters fighting evil(i.e. Jesus in the spiritual realm and Batman in the physical realm)?

If you take a look throughout history, the one thing you find in all cultures will be stories of warriors or fighters who are viewed as essential to that culture's survival and saving the world. Maybe there is something in our brain that serves as a driver towards fashioning superheroes out of true historical characters such as Jesus Christ or creating fictional characters such as Batman.

Christians view Jesus Christ as the promised Messiah of the Tanakh and the Son of God.

True but isn't one of the functions of a Messiah is to fight evil and injustice?

The Mesiach was the sacrificial atonement for our sins.
When Christ returns, He'll be King. Not a DC or Marvel comic.

Batman and Superman are vigilantes by nature. Jesus may of called attention to wrongdoing but he did little to actually stop it from happening.

I think that he was one of the original superheroes, with many remakes/versions/directors cuts circulating in the first, second and third centuries, based on even older box office hits from India and Greece. Jesus Christ, being a Jewish remake, ( monotheistic treatment of what had been a polytheistic story) was like a successsful American remake of "The Ring" ( original version Japanese).

Batman and Superman might even be said to be modern reworkings of the old story, with as much meaning for the population as the New Testament story had for people in the first and second centuries, when most people still knew that it was not a historical document but a great tale.

Not so much fight as eradicate. The 2nd Coming of Christ will signify the end of the world. When Jesus returns, the gloves come off.

Superman can be viewed as a secular messiah. Jesus and Superman have a lot in common.

My view is that Isa (AHS), or Jesus as he is known in English, is a prophet, a mortal man, sent by Allah. He's not divine, but a messenger. He posessed no super powers. He is not dead, a fake prophet was put in his place during the crucifiction. He will return on the day of judgement and punish all the non-Muslims.

Superman is a Jew, his father Jor-El

Years ago German archaologists have discoverd Jesus' tomb in Kashmir capital Srinagar. I visited it in 1999. For the muslems he is a well respected prophet.
Another theory goes that he had a brother and did not really die on the cross. His brother took his place.
