Conserve and reject topic

Yeah, Maxime Bernier was returned in your province. Jerk.

While minority governments can work if there is good legislation, I worry we are going to be saddled with another expensive election if this Harper government falls.

Dion has to go. He is a decent sort but he is no Trudeau (Pierre Elliot, I mean. )

I am interested in how Justin is going to handle politics.

After the US election then we can worry some more. :(

We can expect this minority government to hold for quite some time. Whoever gets so foolish as to vote no confidence will feel the voters wrath.

Some voter stats topic

Election cost: $290 million (Canadian dollars)

Voter turnout in the whole country 59%, the lower than 2004 (60%). Lowest in Canadian history!

Highest turnout in PEI, lowest in Newfoundland-Labrador. (misplaced the per cents!)

Conservative Party shut out of Metropolitain Toronto and Newfoundland-Labrador (as of this posting). edit (misspelled Labrador, now fixed.)

No Green seats elected, so Elizabeth May has no seat. All other party leaders easily returned by voters in their respective ridings. 2 Independents elected.

Not many voted in my poll. Kind of reflects national voter turnout, eh? :P

I was sad to see Elizabeth May lose, she was one of the nicer candidates

The independent who got elected in Quebec (Qc city) is a nut case.
In the province of Quebec, we have one NDP in Montreal, no greens, a few liberals, too many Blocs and a few conservatives in Quebec city. Plus, Bernier got reelected :?
Quebec city seems to vote like the prairies for some odd reason :?
