My parents also insist I'm Catholic, although it doesn't really bother me that much. I'd be stunned if they knew what Atheism even is. And I agree most people tend to just go with the flow, and not really question their beliefs, most of course just continuing what they were taught as a child from their parents. However, that's not true for all of those that follow religion, but I'd argue it for the majority. There are other ways too to come to a conclusion on the universe's origins and other things. The approach I take is a more rational Agnostic/Atheist approach which I feel overall makes the most sense all things considered.
