There's an old saying in Tennessee... I know it's in Texas, probably Tennessee... that says, "Fool me once........... shame on.... shame on you........ You fool me, you can't get fooled again."

Here's a good compendium:

Maybe, I am simply too European, but this:

"The only thing I know about Slovakia is what I learned first-hand from your foreign minister, who came to Texas."—To a Slovak journalist as quoted by Knight Ridder News Service, June 22, 1999. Bush's meeting was with Janez Drnovsek, the prime minister of Slovenia.

also neat:

"The point now is how do we work together to achieve important goals. And one such goal is a democracy in Germany."—Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006

"After all, Europe is America's closest ally."—Mainz, Germany, Feb. 23, 2005 ...especially Belarus, oh, I forgot that we're one nation now.

"We spent a lot of time talking about Africa, as we should. Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease."—Gothenburg, Sweden, June 14, 2001 yes, they are too, makes the World cup qualification rounds very short...
