This is a one minute video to test how aware you are.

I missed it too. It's common for people to miss the obvious, especially when they are focused on finding what they are looking for.

I am not certain I would say obvious. If the bear had been red, then I would conclude I had missed the obvious. If I had watched the video without looking for the bear or counting passes, I am still not sure I would have noticed the bear...but then again, I tend to be unobservant.

There's another version of this test, better lit, more contrast, which I would call more obvious, but people still pretty consistently fail to notice it.

I believe if it were a higher quality video, I still would have missed it.

I said "obvious" because a moon walking bear is a spectacle to see. When I watched it without counting passes, the bear was obvious to me. The moral of the story is to question our perception so that we don't always see what we expect to see, or want to see, or just see what we think is possible.

Missed it, which just goes to show that eye witness accounts are not all that reliable.

exactly.

I saw the bear but only because a few days ago I got caught with the gorilla video (pretty much the same as this one) so when I heard the "how many passes" line I knew I should look for some hairy creature in there hehe

What nobody ever sees is the clear parade of seventeen black tarantulas wearing green eyeshades that ambled across the ceiling while people were carefully looking for the bear.

I counted the passes correctly and I noticed an extra person wearing black. Not enough to see that it was a moonwalking bear, but I did at least notice an extra body.
