The peeing law isn't that outrageous, though it should be restricted to not being on people, where people sit, or on people's stuff.

When pregnant women have to go they have to go.

Did you change your mind on the issue?

No, I was stating my reason for my previous statement.

These laws are hilarious! And I thought Singapore had weird laws.

Haha! I like number 9. Who would enter Parliament wearing a suit of armor anyway?
(That sounds pretty hard core tho.)

It actually a pretty dangerous place sometimes, especially when the relations between the king and Parliment became contentious. One of the triggers for the Civil War was when King Charles sent armed soldiers into the building and attempted to arrest several MP's who disagreed with him. So I can see the armour prohibition being intended to stop similar incidents.

A lot of these laws probably made perfect sense at the time, or for a highly specific case, but instead of being stricken when they became obsolete, they were just forgotten. Still funny, though. :)

Hey, I'm English too! I think its dead funny! If you want British revenge, type 'dumb laws' into a search engine and hopefully you'll find the website that has hundreds of REALLY dumb American laws. I found those 10 times funnier than these!

Sometimes we Brits have to laugh at ourselves...

Do they have the death penalty for that?

Did you read the article? British people are the ones who voted these laws are absurd, not Americans

9. It is illegal to enter the Houses of Parliament in a suit of armour (three percent)

10. In the city of York it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow (two percent)

those to sound senseibel enoff

i mean if i see a crazy drunk scot out on the town with a bow and arrow well hell id kill him :D

but seriously given when these law were likely made they probebly made sense at the time.

We don't have the death penalty here, as we are ethically advanced.

You also have quite a lot of deadly bombings over there for a population of your size. Perhaps if you killed the people who were caught they would A) be less inclined to kill others in the first place B) have no opportunity of getting off the hook and doing it again

I was being sarcastic. And what about suicide bombers? Do you think we should have the death penalty for them?

Well, I speak only for myself, but I try not to piss on people's countries, such as by using dim-whittled, hateful generalizations like, say, "another stupid American". I do prefer to piss on people who are offended over trifles though. I especially enjoy pissing on people who call others stupid, due to their own deficit of having pitiably thin skin. Know any? I've the urge to relieve myself right about now.

Good fortune,

- Icarus quotes directly from the Book of the Subgenius handbook when he says: "f**k 'em if they can't take a joke."...

PS: Thanks to my British friends on the thread who've taken this for the humor it is; people who cannot laugh at themselves are truely pitiable. [I'm Scottish, BTW.]
