Two Polish neo-Nazis who were childhood sweethearts and later became skinheads have discovered what for them is a shocking family secret: They're actually Jewish.

Pawel and Ola, identified only by their first names, are the subject of a CNN documentary about Poles rediscovering their Jewish roots generations after their ancestors hid their religious identities to escape persecution during World War II.

A few years ago, Ola found out from Warsaw's Jewish Historical Institute that both she and her husband are technically Jews. "It was unbelievable -- it turned out that we had Jewish roots. It was a shock," she said.

At the time, she and Pawel were active in Warsaw's neo-Nazi movement. "I was a nationalist 100 percent. Back then when we were skinheads it was all about white power... that Jews were the biggest plague and the worst evil of this world," Pawel said.

Both 33, they've now embraced their Jewish identity and are active in their local orthodox synagogue.

"I'm not saying that I don't have regrets but it's not something that I walk around and lash myself over... I feel sorry for those that I beat up," Pawel said. "But I don't hold a grudge against myself."

What neo-nazis do not realize is, it takes a lot of motivation to try and take over the world, and personally, I'd rather watch Family Guy.

There was a guy in Australia who was brought up in an orphanage not knowing who his parents were.

Because he was dark skinned he assumed that he was half Aboriginal.
He went on to become one of the leaders of the Aboriginal movement, fighting for the rights of "his people"

Then he found out that his father was an Indian sailor and he had no Aboriginal blood at all. Whoops!

But the Aborigines said "Hey mate, don't worry about it. We still accept you as one of us".

That's pretty funny in a messed up kind of way.

Thirty years ago I was very interested in Judaism and even tried to find out if I had any heritage. and even when I joined Ancestry I peeked around, wondering. Nope. I am AS (since 2000) and have always felt a sort of kinship with the those who have been maligned and ostracized. This was the reason for my interest in minority groups many years ago( and I still study them) and when I found out I was AS, everything made sense.

Am I the only person who saw this and immediately thought about the Chappelle Show skit where Dave Chappelle played a blind African American Klansman?

That sounds like a great sketch.

The whole concept of descrimination based on skin color must be hard to explain to a blind person.

Hitler's paternal grandfather may have been Jewish! I am not sure if there has been any proof of that but if there was, he did an excellent job hiding it. That is definitely irony for you. Next thing you will be hearing is that Josef Mengele had a long lost twin! Hmmm.

Basically, the skit is a mock news story centering on a blind African American man who has lived in a rural community in Alabama his whole life, and no one around him ever told him he was black because they all figured it was easier for him to live in Alabama assuming himself to be white. So he grows up to be an outspoken Klansman who lives on an isolated compound and writes book-length white supremacist screeds, until he goes to speak at a Klan rally and takes off his hood in front of the whole room full of white supremacists. In the end, after finally realizing the truth about his own ethnicity, he divorces his wife of 19 years because she's a "n*****-lover".

It was a brilliant skit, and completely shined a light on just how ridiculous and unfounded that kind of hatred can be.
