Kenneth Copeland is an idiot, pure and simple. He's one of the ones who gives Christians a bad name.

To answer your question: NO! Does Kenneth know that PTSD is a demon that never, EVER goes away no matter how you try get rid of it? PTSD is a demon that knows every fear in your heart. You know how? It's a part of you. I know because I have it.

MelissaCho, there can be no question that you are hurtin (in the country and western sense; pain + stress+ a heck of a lot more.)
I wouldn't wish PTSD on my worst enemy; some fates just are too cruel. And yet, there you are living it live. Help me grasp this,
so I may do what little I can to help you against .

And yet, this buffoon Copeland has the gall to believe that the Bible is somehow a preventive or a cure for this damnable condition?
I can hear [insert representative of evil/temptation here] whispering in my mind's ear saying maybe I should wish a dose
of PTSD upon him so that he gets to know firsthand how much it sucks from your life...how much it sucks, full stop! Dammit!

It's getting better with me. I don't get as many nightmares as I use to. But the point I didn't say last time is: what about people who are Jewish or Islam? Is he saying that everyone who is Christian is doomed? The reason I came out was I didn't want anybody accusing me of not knowing what I was talking about. YES I DO!! ! And FYI, War is NOT the only way to get PTSD.

If I may rely a personal story about that subject. I went to my brother-in-laws house this thanksgiving and stayed in a hotel so I wouldn’t have to stay all day there. I was supposed to come when the meal was about ready but I was told too early to come so I had to wait for three hours before it was ready. For some reason the host decided to give their kids cap guns to shot in the house and every time they shot them off I would involuntary jump and wince. It got so bad I started crying and I am not a very emotional person. My wife saw me and got me outside so I could regain my composure and then went back inside to hide the caps. I of course don’t like load noises but I had never reacted like that before and it really disturb me.

I never saw the news when I was little,my dad could not watch the images of Vietnam Nam that were on TV.He would never even touch a gun.He was a WW 2 vet, served on Attu.He never talked about. He did therapy at the VA because his hands shook so bad. They called it shell shock back then.My friend's dad would dive for cover every time it thundered. My neighbor,a Navy Seal,Vietnam has panic attacks when the helicopters fly over looking for weed.My foster dad USAF,Vietnam said whenever he saw lightning in the distance he got flashbacks of bombings.Never called me by the shortened version of my name, said he saw to many little Vietnamese girls selling their bodies with that name.

“You don’t take drugs to get rid of it, it doesn’t take psychology; that promise right there will get rid of it,” he said, pointing at the Bible.

Barton is fool. He will always be a fool. Look for him to always spout ignorant, cruel drivel. PTSD is a real condition. People with it deserve treatment and compassion. I suppose he would also believe that his god will simply cure autism as well.

So "Thou Shall not Kill" is overturned by the supreme court of Barton? As long as it's done in the name of Jingoism then the Lord smiles upon it. Hmmm...

Somethings not quite right here......

The proper translation from the Hebrew is: Do not murder.

That makes a hell of a lot more sense.

regarding the other comment you posted in this thread...

there's only a couple verses in the Bible you should read a few times to really understand what is going on in this age.

the first is acts 17:30/31. God commands everyone everywhere to repent, prior ages were ages of ignorance.
what this means you need to know what you're saying to other people at all times, its fairly easy to discern whether your actions are uplifting or destructive.
the second is a combination of a few others.. Luke 11:11-13, 1 John 4:2.

the entire conspiracy of the Christian faith is that the Creator will fill you with his Spirit....

to be completely honest, the first time something spoke to me.. from within me.. i thought i was demon possessed.
in anycase.. regarding testing the spirits... you have to make them say the entire sentence in 1 John 4:2
yes is not an answer.
i confess is not an answer.
i confess Christ is not an answer....
you get the idea.

regarding arrogant a**holes who preach their own gospel..
well, your works follow you, even after the grave.. 2 Peter 2:3... so just ignore them

I haven't been in combat...

...all the same...

...it is not guilt before the Lord that my PTSD and I are worried about.

It's what can happen at the hands of human beings.

I suppose the Bible CAN cure PTSD. If we all treated each other the way the Book says we're supposed to (the way it ACTUALLY says we're supposed to, not the way cherry-pickers say it says when it suits them), nobody would end up sufficiently traumatized to end up with PTSD in the first place.

In the mean time, whacking a few people with a hardbound dictionary concordance edition would probably make me feel better, if only for a little while.
